We could not have had better care for our grandson. All of the staff have been amazing and have guided us through this very difficult time with infinite patience. They noticeably work together a a cohesive and professional team. We could never thank them enough.
It has been a total privilege to experience the close team work & planning to take us through this difficult time .Thankyou for everything .Gramps
I have only appraisals while in nursery 1. I appreciated to be included in the care, in the rounds, see nurses explaining to me or to the babies what was going to happen. In nursery 3, however, very good or poor quality of care depended on the nurse staff. Sometimes I had even to correct nurses who were giving food at wrong time or forgetting meds.
I was operated on by DR TAHIR ALI and his younger female assistant DR to clear an artery that was 80% blocked.
Whilst I will have a largish scare on my neck it should reduce the chance of a stroke.
The Op I am told went well and I found myself for 36 hours in the Intensive Care Unit with lots of wire and tubes attached. It was explained to me what each did by the staff.
I shared a nurse with just one other patient For my 1st night I had a lovely caring South African nurse who was always smiling and at times others helped if more than one nurse was needed.
On the first morning after the Op I was sat in the Chair for breakfast when my Day Nurse Rachel was attending me, when I felt rough. I then fainted as my blood pressure dropped suddenly. Rachel reacted brilliantly and I found myself coming back round surrounded by staff and as it was change over time between staff shifts no less than 8 staff rushed to my aid.
That day I was visited by a number of Doctors and DR ALI found time to visit me twice.
The next day I was moved to Heron Ward and whilst less staff to patient ratio I never felt neglected. In particular Lisa one nurse helped me time and again and whilst I had 2 minor bleeds from my wounds on both occasions the staff acted quickly.
The food was fine and the Pea and ham Soup and Plum Crumble were outstanding. Also any time I wanted a tea it arrived hot promptly. The lady who kept me feed was really friendly and food was nice and hot.
My only complaint was that in Heron Ward I had my own room and toilet and it was to cold. Although staff put on a heater and gave me extra blankets clearly the heating system in the room is out of action in particular the toilet area was far to cold.
Well done St Peters and the wonderful staff.
I was really grateful of the hospital staff. They are doing a brilliant job with not much resources.
Overall a very pleasant experience. Minimal delay with appointment and the nurses were very professional, reassuring and very friendly.

Paula was really great. Put me at easy and explained things in great detail to me. I’m sure advise will be invaluable.
Whenever I have any appointment at st Peter’s Hospital, I always walk out feeling super happy. The staff, the facilities, the care is absolutely brilliant! I always get listened to and get such amazing care that I feel like it’s a private hospital! I always walk out thinking ‘why do people complain about the NHS? - they are brilliant! Well atleast at St. Peter’s Hospital! :)
