If it was possible the Spire would be my choice of hospital everytime.
I only had a day bed whilst recovering from a nerve root block injection but found the whole experience very calm. The staff were very friendly and professional. They made me feel totally at ease. I would definitely recommend this hospital.
A small amount of staff seemed to actually care
Only One member of staff actually opened the door and asked if I required anything, or to enquire if I was alright
The room was never tired up sheets where left pilled in the corner, never mind any rubbish removed from the area
The noise at time due to renovations was not a good environment for rest and recuperation
My over head light did not work from the personal switch as at the time I was bedridden it was impossible to turn on the light in the evening to read
The door did not stay shut
My table and drink was left out of reach on more than one occasion
The on call Doctor was very professional
I could go on!
I found the Spire to be very professional in dealing with patients.
The waiting area is very relaxing and staff very kind.
The nursing staff who booked me in were brilliant (especially Paul, who was fantastic and kept me laughing at his terrible jokes and even gave me a hug when i said i was nervous) making what could have been a horrible experience much more bearable.
And I was never left alone so I didn't have time to be too nervous.
From arriving at the hospital to going down to theatre it was only 2 and a half hours.
The only downsides were being left for over 2 hours through the night with no water despite asking 3 times for some. I appreciate that the nurses are busy but I think that 2 hours is excessive.
And I wasn't warned just how painful it would be when I went home. The pain relief wasn't explained properly to me and I wasn't sent home with any despite it saying on the leaftlets that I would be.
I believe I would have been more comfortable if i'd been in an extra day then my pain relief would have been sorted out.
A very clean and well run hospital
I had some reservations about the Spire Hospital at Anlaby after reading quite a lot of negative feedback on their Social Media pages, all I can say is I could not have had a better experience from the moment I arrived at reception until I "escaped", Every single person from the cleaners, the nurses, the food, the physio's every single person was brilliant and I would recommend the place to anyone and everyone. I have also had great aftercare and help form my post operation physiotherapy.
Thank you all for taking care of me, especially Mr George M Spink........Top man I have my life back again.
Very friendly staff and very clean hospital. A little wait to see the specialist.
All staff were extremely friendly informative explained everything and could not help enough I was seen on time every visit except once and was apologised to for the wait unheard of in any other hospital I had visited. The site itself was clean and accessible
I had an MRI & 2 consultations with a Mr Spink whom I would highly recommend. Upon entering the Spire you are met by friendly staff and a very clean lobby/waiting area with drinks facilities. The consultant was extremely professional, but still managed to put you at ease straight from the off. Everything was clearly explained and discussed in detail covering all aspects with regards my condition. I would highly recommend the Spire to everyone thinking of using.
