The nursing staff who booked me in were brilliant (especially Paul, who was fantastic and kept me laughing at his terrible jokes and even gave me a hug when i said i was nervous) making what could have been a horrible experience much more bearable. And I was never left alone so I didn't have time to be too nervous. From arriving at the hospital to going down to theatre it was only 2 and a half hours. The only downsides were being left for over 2 hours through the night with no water despite asking 3 times for some. I appreciate that the nurses are busy but I think that 2 hours is excessive. And I wasn't warned just how painful it would be when I went home. The pain relief wasn't explained properly to me and I wasn't sent home with any despite it saying on the leaftlets that I would be. I believe I would have been more comfortable if i'd been in an extra day then my pain relief would have been sorted out.
