I found the lack of doctors in the hospital very unsettling . Just having 1RMO on call is , in my view ,not enough . In general it felt more like a hotel , which I’m sure is the intention but I’ve had a lot of experience of surgery and hospitals and it seemed very strange not to have doctors and senior nursing staff around post surgery on the 24-48 hours . You see your surgeon very briefly each day and I’m sure that if there are problems it would be more but it doesn’t inspire confidence . I found the fact that there are no ICU facilities also worrying but I knew RHCH was 5 mins away! I wasn’t allowed a visit from my granddaughter who was 12 which I found really upsetting .

The care I received at Sarum Road Hospital was excellent. The staff looked after me really well and took the time to make sure I understood everything that was going to happen before, during and after the operation. I would definitely recommend Sarum Road to other people considering having treatment there.

Sarum is excellent, recently renovated it feels spa-esk (no joke!) The staff are all incredible. From April who checked me into my room, the F&B team: Peter, Anna etc. Barbara who looked after me post-op and Geoff the anaesthetist in his fabulously bright suit combo. Every single person I’ve met today has been kind, caring, professional and supportive.

I was treated for a hip replacement in March 2023 and couldn't of asked for better care from arrival to departure and thereafter. Mr D Hartwright was so considerate, caring and personable throughout my whole journey. My aftercare has been amazing. During my stay every member if staff was truly kind from reception, theatre staff, ward members and catering were 5 star x Thank you all so much. Feeling amazing.
