I spent 7 nights on the thoracic ward and a further 8 nights on the Neurology ward. All staff were great could not fault the care I received.

My mother was a patient here for almost 10weeks in that time she didn't get the best of care' she wld press her button to be taken to bathroom often ignored which wld result in my mother lying or sitting in her own filth as she cldn't go by herself after a nasty fall at home left her with a boken arm and very unsteady on her feet also the staff were very dowdy and not very pleasant apart from a chosen few who cldn't do enough. I cant help but think YES its a lovely clean hospital the problem is the staffing is exzactly the same as the old royal people in the job for money rather than careing... those people shld be cast aside never to wrk with the vunrable again let decent people do that job.i cld go on and on how her leg was neglected now dealing with a hole..taken her buzzer away at nite.folk like that make me sick

Elderly mother with hip fractured admitted on Monday, surgery not carried out until.Sunday waited in recovery 5 hrs for a bed on a ward. When a bed became available it was on a male ward, finally transferred to a female ward at 7.30pm Staff on the Ambulatory Ward told me my mother's surgery was cancelled, due to her being on blood thinners - she isn't. The same nurse told me my mother has dementia she doesn't, but does get confused. The nurses sat at their station chatting and eating chocolate most of the day. Don't hip fractures need to be operated on within 48hrs?

Over the years I have visited quite a few hospitals around Northern Ireland and everyone that I have been in has given me the best of care, treatment and respect. Meals could be better in the Royal.

I’m currently an in-patient In a medical ward. It’s 1.40 am and I’ve been repeated woken by internal phones ringing and machines that bleep constantly. Surely there is a silent button on drips, blood pressure monitors, etc so that staff can continue to carry out duties with out a fan fare of bleeping machines. Every single machine has some sort of bleep that goes off 24/7. As for the internal phones ringing... can someone tell me why they are ringing at 12.50am. If I have to tell you why it so important to sleep after surgery or during an illness you need to sack your chief executive! The night nosie In This hospital is not good for patients in any shape form or description. Constructive suggestion: Teach staff where the silent buttons are in equipment for night use. Or purchase new equipment with night silence. Bring ear phones with you and an eye mask for the over head lights if you want to get any sleep. Someone tell staff to stop phoning each other or get some sort of mobile phone issued to one staff member on ward that does not ring. Learn how to use the silent/vibrate mode on the phone. I don’t think I could recommend this hospital. It’s to big and way too noisy for anyone who is ill.

Rvh need to take better care of their staff. Working long , hard hours without breaks, and with inadequate staffing levels cause mistakes to be nade.

After being admitted to Ward 4F the attention and care I received from the nursing staff was second to none, the nurses didn’t seem to stop for hours on end but always made time for a few words of encouragement or a quick chat while carrying out their duties.
