Since being admitted to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary pre Christmas and the follow up of my condition I cannot praise highly enough all the staff who have been involved from my time on ward 36 to all the follow up consultations and tests. They have helped enormously in me coming to terms with prostate cancer.
nothing more to add
many years ago i was a patient of Mr Simon Ratcliffe
He is simply the very best caring surgeon who has ever treated me.
I can not fault him in any way
All good, thank you.
I was admitted for a TURB at 7am and was very soon prepared for theatre. After
a general anaesthetic I finally came round in the ward 33 and was looked after so well.
It was lunch time and my 3 course meal arrived, which I thought was very tasty, followed by a coffee to order and a restful afternoon. The attention I received was friendly and caring, thank you.
Everyone I met in the hospital was friendly and helpful during a difficult time for me
for which I was very grateful.
I was also impressed how well all the other patients were looked after even at difficult times such as night shifts.
The ward was kept at a comfortable temperature.
Thankfully, I can only speak as an outpatient -- however, I've been most impressed with the RLI and thankful that I live in this area. BRAVO RLI Staff
NOTHING TO SAY.
I have qualified my answer to the first question as treatment varies greatly between specialisms and even within specialisms. In short some of the departments are very well run with excellent staff, others are not so well run but have some excellent staff, other department need to improve. However, overall the hospital is in much better shape than it was a decade ago.
I was in the RLI for 6 months over 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with Cerebellar Ataxia.
The care I received over those 6 month has enabled me to carry on living to this day.
I only have praise for the NHS staff.
