Review of Queen’s - Accident & Emergency
21st May 2024

14 hours wait to see a doctor not good enough, no update on blood results so you say there anxious. No update on what they are planning on doing. Move you from one department to another to “access you quickly” but just join back of queue in new department. Terrible experience.presented with chest pains and did t have a ecg for about 7 hours. Should fa s ecg within 10.

Suggested improvements
Wait times improved.

Two blood tests went missing ,the solution was to take more blood two more needles put into me .while having a blood transfusion I was moved out of A&E ? Resulting in blood leaking over the bed

Was treated well but didn’t like the long waits with no information about what was happening. I expected some waiting around and was there for a long time but staff were lovely and treatment was great.

Suggested improvements
For me personally nothing better could be done other than everything being a lot quicker but I understand that this may not be possible due to number of patients

This was the 3rd time attending the emergency department for the same issue, I have had constant abdominal pain losing weight my pain was so bad when I attended for the 3rd time, all that was done was a blood test pumping me with morphine. Which didn't ease the pain spent 10 minutes with the dr after waiting 11 hrs, I have lost all faith in the service at Queens.... I was told I was going to be Reffered to gastric team urgently on my.second visit but never happened ..... so 9 weeks on constant pain weight loss imI'going to be complaining and taking this further.

Suggested improvements
Yes admitted me and found what is causing my constant pain

I attended the A&E department with my mum who had a fall and feel pain in her ribs. She is quite frail and been poorly with her health, she is diabetic and got other medical issues. We had the worst experience at the A&E waiting for more than 24 hrs wait to get treated and to be seen by Dr. She spent all night and day sitting on a metal chair and without a proper meal nor getting any information what's was going on. Now she is home but that day and night staying at the A&E , no sleep, no proper food has make her more weak and poorly when she got home. I wish no one ever goes through that kind of bad experience in hospital.

Suggested improvements
Lack of communication and information through staffs and clients causes more problems to the person suffering.... something need to work towards and also no doctors at hospital to look after patients.
