Care is normally very good, but as in many hospitals, communication could be improved. This would lead to shorter waiting times in A & E. Failing that, if patients could be told what they are waiting for and approximately how long they need to wait before the next stage in the process, it would make the time more tolerable. This morning spent 3 hrs getting nowhere.
Having said that, when I went mid-morning on a Monday 3 wks ago we were in & out in 2 1/2 hrs including x rays, physio, crutches. Well done!
And please turn the telly down!
The whole of the department appeared to be well organised and I do not have any suggestions for improvement.
On arrival gave details and invited to wait, was seen fairly promptly by triage nurse. Then waited to see doctor. The doctor was of Asian origin and didn't seem to understand what I told him. After three attempts understood and treatment was suggested. Of the three people I saw none introduced themselves by name or what grade they were. Only one was wearing an ID badge. They were friendly and helpful enough although one of them had a quick chat with a friend who happened to be a patient passing through the department! In answer to question regarding using department again. This is the only hospital in this town therefore there is no choice! I could also hear discussions about patients between staff.
fantastic care
