Please note that I did NOT attend the Nuffield Guildford - mistakenly selected but cannot exit their review page
I attended the Nuffield Woking and Prime Health Weybridge!
I have read some reviews of Nuffield Hospitals (not this one) which are far from positive. I hope they are not confused with Nuffield's outstanding provision at Guildford. I was admitted for major surgery (Abdominal wall reconstruction) following emergency work by the NHS last summer.(I was treated brilliantly then also - the need for subsequent surgery is not unusual.)
The procedure was carried out by Prof. Rockhall and the Anaesthetist was Prof W. Fawcett. Both of these gentlemen were professional, accessible and approachable, and kind. I felt safe and well advised, even though the prospect of major surgery made me quite anxious. All my questions were answered and I could make decisions on balance of risk.
The procedure itself was painless because of an epidural administered effectively. I am five days into my recovery, having been discharged after 4 days and have had only minor discomfort which is diminishing anyway. I may be writing a little prematurely, but I am really optimistic about the outcome. Follow ups are planned, and I have medication etc to avoid common complications.
The staff at this hospital were, without exception, outstanding. Not just in their skill at doing their work, but in their care for me. This includes nurses, ward staff, catering staff, physio s, housekeeping and Health Care assistants. I spent a while post op in a recovery ward. I think their were two patients there at the time and two nurses.
In particular, the main nurses who looked after me there, and afterwards when I felt most vulnerable, were Cristina and Laury. (Hope spelling is OK) They were really skilful, knowledgeable, sensitive, gentle, and again, imbued with care and kindness. The knowledge and advice of Debbie and Joe, as physios have given me a clue as to a future recovery and fitness plan.
My road to recovery is just starting, but I am in such a better condition now than on entry, both physically, and in terms of confidence. I am full of gratitude for the service and care this establishment has provided. I hope the staff at all levels are proud of themselves. They should be.
Made an outrageous charge of £835 for one injection that took a few minutes. This was on top of the doctors fee.
My daughter was cared for so wonderfully in the paediatrics day surgery ward. The staff could not do enough for her (or me) and we were kept informed of the procedure and the after care. I would not hesitate to recommend the Nuffield Hospital and would definitely use this establishment again if needing to in the future.
Every single member of staff made me feel welcome, comfortable and looked after. I saw Dr A Scala and his team (Christopher and Jackie) and my goodness were they great! Spoke me through what they were going to do, eased the tension with the right amount of support and humour and just made me so at home. Nurse Nisha (definitely spelled wrong - sorry) was so friendly and tentative.
The room was clean, private and had everything i needed. The food was outstanding (I had Quinoa salad!!!) with lots of other lovely options available.
An efficient, but not rushed, procedure and can't thank the whole team enough for everything.
Despite the demands of the current pandemic, I found my treatment at the Nuffield Guildford to be exemplary. I felt extremely safe and it appeared to me that a great deal of care was taken to keep all patients who entered the hospital safe and well. I was treated with dignity and respect and any question or concern I may have had was answered with courtesy. At no time was I left to wonder about where I should go or what I should do while waiting to be seen for my procedure. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Mr Unnithan performed my Hip Surgery here 3/7/20.
The care I received from waking up and finally leaving the hospital was fantastic.
Thank you all for great team work. You really did help with my recovery.
Mr Unnithan thank you for being a great surgeon and a great human being.

What can I say, from start to finish, this hospital really looks after you. No queues, no waiting, spotless rooms. The staff, were all amazing, from the nurse who could see i was ill and turned the heating off to the nurse who brought me another round of sandwiches after my op. Obviously hailing from many EU countries the staff were faultless and should I ever need help again I would not hesitate to use their services again. Many thanks.
Nuffield Hospital was very professional and did not feel like a hospital, staff were really great and the lady that brings the tea is really lovely she is always smiling and cheerful, its a shame i don't remember her name.
I had very good care on the day of treatment
