My 97 year old mother was admitted to A&E on Sunday9th February after she took unwell at home. She suffers from Alzheimer’s Dementia and other age related conditions. From the paramedics who attended her at home, to the medical staff in A&E my mother received the highest standard of care. We cannot praise the hospital staff highly enough for their sensitivity, compassion and understanding towards a very confused and upset old lady. We luckily got her home after her tests and she is none the worse for her illness. We, as her family were kept well informed and treated with care and respect. We cannot thank everyone enough. The staff are a credit to the hospital and their profession. THANK YOU.

My son was in day surgery for dental work at Monklands Hospital on Wednesday 11November. He is autistic and all the staff went beyond to make him feel safe and at ease. They developed an action plan of treatment to make the procedure run smoothly and with no anxiety to my son. The whole experience was a joy from start to finish. I am astounded that the NHS in Scotland is vilified for missing targets and poor care but in my experience we have only received treatment of the highest standard. The hospital, has in my dealings with it have been professional. Appointments were timely and at no time did I have to wait for one.

My daughter went 2 A&E in extreme pain late at night. It was extremely busy. After 45 minutes waiting, my daughter felt like she was about to pass out so I told the staff this. She said she would call through and get her seen quicker. This did not happen as everyone else got seen before her. The nurse who was taking her details was not very forthcoming and we felt like we were being a nuisance to her. She left us waiting for 2 hours and I had to go and see what was happening. Eventually, a doctor came and said there was nothing more they could do and asked us to go to Wishaw hospital. The staff there were so pleasant and helpful unlike Monklands!

I was taken from the emergency department and seen promptly. The staff, without exception, were friendly, efficient and went above and beyond. I was told exactly why was happening and why. This is a very busy hospital but with the first day I was seen by three doctors of different levels and by two the next day before I was discharged. Nurses were friendly and never made you feel you were a nuisance. I felt in control and safe.

Just because a nurse is retiring doesnt mean they can treat you whatever way they feel like and without respect on ward 24

I have been attending the Dyalisis unit for in excess of four years, in that time I have found the majority of nursing staff to be helpfull and compitent at there job role.I have found it necessary on a couple of occasions to raise the issue of poor refreshments the selection is limited due to the need to adhere to a strict diet however, the quality of the sandwiches is awful , with seldom provision of rolls. The waiting area before gaining access to the ward is seats in a cold draughty corridor where patients of all ages have to sit after encountering a journey from home by patient transport which regularly can exceed an hour. The issue of the heating has been addressed following complaints .The staff available work hard in an effort to elevate waiting times to be put onto a machine so the patient has to arrive early if he or she wishes to avoid a long waiting time to be put on or off the Dyalisis machine , it is clearly evident that the unit is understaffed which is totally frustrating for all concerned , to sum up ,good overworked staff pleasant ward if not a bit noisey , however more thought needs to be put into making the patients stay more pleasant.
