I have visited Monklands Hospital as a patient several times now for minor surgery etc. All the staff here, without exception are absolutely brilliant, very friendly but profesional and really comforting. Please keep up the good work everybody and thank you.
I have been attending the Dyalisis unit for in excess of four years, in that time I have found the majority of nursing staff to be helpfull and compitent at there job role.I have found it necessary on a couple of occasions to raise the issue of poor refreshments the selection is limited due to the need to adhere to a strict diet however, the quality of the sandwiches is awful , with seldom provision of rolls. The waiting area before gaining access to the ward is seats in a cold draughty corridor where patients of all ages have to sit after encountering a journey from home by patient transport which regularly can exceed an hour. The issue of the heating has been addressed following complaints .The staff available work hard in an effort to elevate waiting times to be put onto a machine so the patient has to arrive early if he or she wishes to avoid a long waiting time to be put on or off the Dyalisis machine , it is clearly evident that the unit is understaffed which is totally frustrating for all concerned , to sum up ,good overworked staff pleasant ward if not a bit noisey , however more thought needs to be put into making the patients stay more pleasant.
My daughter and my partner have both had bad experiences here. Refusal to listen to patients, actually took away medicine my daughter had been prescribed by her gp, accuse patients of lying, poor, rude and arrogant treatment of patients by staff, both doctors and nurses. Requests are ignored, meals and drinks mixed up. Everything about this hospital was below what would be reasonably expected.
