I was admitted to Monkland hospital as an emergency after having a stroke on 28th August. Within minutes of arriving I was on my way to the scanning dept! After my scan and diagnosis I was taken to a temporary ward, where the care was outstanding, with doctors in attendence regularly. Next day, I was transferred to the Stroke unit- Ward 21. Where my care team was headed by Professor Barber with nursing, physiotherapy and OT input. I could not gave had better care! Hospital doctors including the professor liaised with my GP to ensure an up to date medical history was obtained and quickly developed a treatment plan to progress my recovery. I would like to thank Professor Barber for his kind care and attention and for keeping me and my family informed of my treatment plan and explaining what was happening throughout my stay. I would also like to thank Specialist Nuse Dan who was always available to answer any questuons. As always nurses were amazing with a particular mention to Nurse Joyce who with her pleasent manner and joyful smile made my stay a little less traumatic! I thank you Monklands Hospital and especially ward 21 One grateful patient Brenda Morgan

I just left the hospital emergency now at 9:50am after waiting for exactly 11 hours without seeing a doctor. I feel so sad, my whole body aches. I got there last night at 10;48pm.

Brilliant care from accident and emergency through to occupational therapy. Everyone did a spectacular job. Special mentions for Mr S Hannah's team, the plaster room team (heroes) and Debbie Pipe. I found Debbie's instructions on NHS inform particularly helpful in my recovery (before I even met her in person). I looked this up while waiting on an appointment. My recommendations would be for Doctors and Consultants to refer patients to NHS Inform for self help ideas.

During my stay in the hospital from 28th February 2024 Till 6th March 2024 I would like to express my gratitude for the expertise and knowledge of the medical team and their efforts to ensure my well-being. (Pulminary Embolism) and to aknowledge the kindness and empathy shown by the nurses, doctors, and other staff members. The attention to detail exhibited by the staff in monitoring my condition, administering treatments, and addressing any concerns or questions I had were second to none and to say I appreciate the professionalism displayed by everyone involved in my care, from the frontline healthcare workers to the administrative staff behind the scenes.

I would love to thank all staff at the day surgery unit for the fantastic way I was treated while in their care. Treated with great respect and dignity. Tried to alleviate any worries I had about my procedure (TURP). Wee special mention to Grace who dealt with me on arrival. Checked on me regularly to make sure I was okay. Also Joanne the best anaesthetist I’ve ever met. She explained everything in great detail and explained why I would be getting an epidural. Surgery. Everyone in theatre was brilliant and Mr. Nalagatla was brilliant as per usual. Thanks to everyone again for helping me through this procedure. Hugh Murphy

I had a procedure yesterday which took place in Monklands day surgery unit. I was very anxious but the staff were amazing! All very friendly and put me at ease. The staff in the theatre were amazing too at calming my nerves. I was looked after so so well in recovery ( sorry I can't remember the girls name) I woke up feeling really cold and she went above and beyond to make me comfortable. I've got to say, every member of staff I came across yesterday were absolutely amazing!! I can't thank you all enough for looking after me so well. You're all fantastic at your jobs.
