I attended the endoscopy department today, I found all of the staff to be particularly helpful and professional.
I was rather apprehensive initially about the procedure but every one of the staff that I was in contact with put me at ease and were exceptional at there jobs I have no qualms about recommending this procedure to any one.
Finally my thanks to all the staff at this unit who made my visit both soothing and professional.

I brought my partner in after 111 advised to do so on a Friday night. We waited about 10 minutes to get booked in and then waited about 30-40 minutes to be seen by streaming nurse. Afterward got the relevant observations done and transferred into another department of a&e blood test done etc and after about 2 hours doctor came. The care has been great to be honest but the waiting times could be cut down if people didn’t come to a&e for a cold a bruised foot or even blood test results and yes they really did come for them reasons and it doesn’t help the nhs being under staffed
Brought our 3 year old in last night ambulance transferred him after speaking to 111. Seen by a nurse in a and e who was helpful then passed through to childrens a and e. Doctor came didnt even check his temp again and said his temp was fine but it had been taken over two hours before. Had to ask her to check it again and it had risen to 39.2. Said she was going to do an fluid challenge where he had to drink 8.5ml every 5 mins for an hour. He didnt do this he had about 15ml in an hour and was then sick. A second doctor then came in amd said he wasnt worried and used kingmills favourite word for children viral!! So here we are the next night back in childrens a and he as his temperature has risen and hes in a worse state then yesterday. Id put my mortgage on it being viral again!! I no my son and there is somthing very wrong with him yet no one here can seem to see it my wife is an adult nurse and is very concerned. I think if we had brought him in with a broken arm it would still be viral!!
Staff on the birthing unit were excellent, everyone introduced themselves and explained what would be happening clearly and involved myself and my husband in any decisions that had be made.
They were friendly and approachable and also really encouraging.
We were on the maternity ward to be induced, we arrived Monday afternoon/evening as agreed and all seemed well to start, the nurses introduced themselves and explained what would be happening. However after the the first stage if induction was initiated we didn’t see any other nurses or hca’s until we called for one hours later to find out what would be happening next. Unfortunately this continued the next day with no one coming to check on me or even just to pop their head in to see if I was ok. We barely saw a staff member from Monday afternoon until Wednesday lunch time when we were taken to the labour ward.
We were told we were ready to go to the labour ward Tuesday pm but were left waiting until we’d due to lack of beds which is understandable as women in active labour take priority and this is beyond the staffs control but what is within their control is their ability to keep the patient (me) updated on what is happening. This did not happen and it wasn’t until almost 11pm when we called for a nurse to ask if we should try to get some sleep or not.
Some of the nurses we did meet did not introduce themselves and when we did go to find a member of staff there were none to be found. I believe the ward was very understaffed .
If this had been my first pregnancy/induction I would have been left feeling extremely worried and alone, however on this occasion being my third pregnancy/induction I was just left annoyed and anxious as this time was very different to my first two labour experiences at Nottingham city hospital.
The same care or lack of it due to low staff members continued post natal when it was impossible to get a dr to sign off on my baby leaving hospital, we could have left Thursday morning but instead where left there until late Friday, taking up beds unnecessarily.
I was seen quickly by a lovely nurse and her student nurse. Prompt treatment was given and I was given a clear plan from the start. The DR who saw me called Meg was lovely and discharged me home with good advice and treatment. One a whole the service was great Thank you
Only negative aspect of my trip was a nurse called karen she wore a different uniform to the other staff. I heard her being very horrible to the nurse looking after me. I felt upset as the nurse was so good to me. I hope she wasn't too upset by what she went through with her because she is doing a great job-(sorry didn't get her name)
So under staff in a and e. One doctor on to check all kids over. So wrong. Staff are great but it needs more doctors and nurses on. Then the waiting time wouldn't be has long and kids wouldn't be getting so flustered
I come to ae with my daughter often she has colitis and often in a lot of pain we are usually met with kindness and they help her to feel much better but on 12/08/17 the triage nurse was quite condescending about my daughter pain I think they should have more training on certain conditions or listen to patient got to major lovely people to say how busy they are
At this appointment, the nurses were lovely, kind and caring. When I saw the consultant, she was rude and I felt more of a nuisance than a patient. She was rude and I felt she didn't take proper time to examine my eyes. She didn't tell me much about what was happening with my eyes either. All the other doctors I've previously seen were very nice and helpful. When I asked if she thought I would need a stronger lens in my glasses, she was very rude and said she didn't do glasses.
