Review of Clarke

My mother found the ward very noisy but understands it is a busy environment. She is very satisfied, as are we are children, with the care and kindness she received.

My mum, has recently been admitted to the C.D unit at kent & canterbury after suffering a heart attack later being transfered to Invicta ward while being assessed & was later that day sent to Taylor ward for close observation. My mum's health deteriated a few days later, sugar levels & blood pressure dropping dangerously low, the staff treated my mum to a stable condition before being sent for an ultra sound scan. She was then transfered to Mount & McMaster ward where my mum now is. Now when my mum was on taylor ward she was told that could eat anything that she wanted because her sugars were so low, now mum is on Mount & McMaster she is being told that can not have eat certain foods because of sugars in the food, now mum & our selves are very confused when you are being told one thing by one ward then being contridicted by the next ward, my mum's health has deteriated since being on Mount & McMaster ward as she is not eating. The staff tell her that she must eat & have told the family that mum has not eaten much. The food that mum is being served she is struggling with as is struggling to handle the food as no feeling in her hands to feed herself & is struggling to swallow food or doesn't like what there is on offer. We visited mum on Saturday 27/04/2013 at 3.15pm mum was being monitored on her fluid intake & out going, it was found that her bladder was full, the catherta that was fitted was taken out to see if mum was able to wee without the catherta that ws about 4.15pm we had to ask staff a couple of times to attend mum as was in discomfort, we left at 7pm & nothing had been decided on what was being done to releave mum's discomfort, she was only administered some paracetamol & we were still uncertain whether a doctor had been called to find out the cause of the problem

Can not fault the staff, visiting are not very practical, when QEQM has more flexible hours
