Stayed overnight post surgery , such lovely staff . Highly recommend
The whole experience I had at this hospital was utterly shocking. I was left in a room by myself for over 10 hours waiting for my surgery. I had to remind them to bring me some lunch, wasn’t offered any drinks in the afternoon. I found a piece of paper about another another patient in my file. The anaesthetist came to see me thinking I was having a GA when I was actually due to have a local anaesthetic. The doctor also had poor manners and lacked empathy and care. I won’t be going to this hospital again. Very shocking, especially for a private hospital.
I can't rate the surgeon enough. From the consultation to the surgery date, I've been informed and listened to in regard to my back issues. He made me feel comfortable and confident in his abilities, that I was only slightly worried about the outcome of my 2 level decompression surgery and discectomy. I also have a huge tattoo on my back and was worried it may have been altered but the surgeon was incredible and has lined up my tattoo perfectly. I genuinely believe with the operation the after care and everything else provided has given me a new lease on life. My nerve pain has almost completely gone, he's given me my life back and I cannot thank him enough for that.
Everything is well organised and felt totally safe and well looked after. Thanks to Mr Walsh and his team. A big thank you to everyone making me feel so well looked after and cared for during my stay. Congratulations on 51 years today 5/6/21.
From the moment I stepped inside the hospital, every staff member was kind, friendly and professional.
Before my surgery, I had visits from Physio, Pharmacy, Anaesthetist and obviously the surgeon.
The spine surgery was completed very neatly and efficiently by Mr Kamat, who is a delightful man. The nurses who looked after me during my stay made sure I was never in pain and explained everything to me perfectly, so I was never in doubt as to what to expect after surgery. There is certainly plenty of written and verbal information given at all stages. Sandy and Becky are the two names that I remember properly, apologies to the lovely night nurse whose name I can't remember...the drugs were working well!!
I was nervous about going into hospital, especially during the pandemic, but I shouldn't have worried, everything was very safe.
The only thing I would say could have made my life a little easier returning home, would be given a drug chart of some type to tick off, as when you're taking lots of different pills, some of which conflict with one another, you can forget what you've taken when in a slightly dozy state!
They even posted me some more pairs of the snazzy anti embolism stockings to my house, because I forgot to ask for some! Wonderful service by everybody...thank you all so much!
