Northallerton is a really nice and peaceful place. I hope that when I'm old and grey, I will spend my dying days there and be looked after by the nice and caring staff.
All in all, it's not a bad place to be treated in comparision to other places in the UK I have been visiting other people. However, once in the patient's seat - it's difficult to really argue back and control how your treated. It may be better to try and add practical solutions to getting better as well eg. visit the library more or listen to relaxation tapes.
I was sectioned 9 years ago and spent approx 6 weeks in the mental health ward in Friaridge Northallerton Hospital. I was very nervous as I had not been for a hospital stay before and I was in a pscotic state, so I was very nervous and paranoid of hospital. However the nurses and doctors soon put me at ease and the right medication to try and deal with my scizophrenia. Thank goodness I was sectioned and went to hosptial I don;t like to think what would have happened if I hadn;'t been treated. I was going downhill quickly and lost loads of weight, wasn;t eating and washing or looking after myself.. I'm so glad the nurses and doctors looked after me excellently. Thank you.
