The hospital had a lovely, welcoming and warm feeling. The hospital was clean, well presented and had a feeling of being a high end spa in a luxury hotel. The staff were welcoming and charming. My consultant was kind, caring and made me feel reassured.

The procedure was performed by Dr. George and his two assistants and it could not have been better. I was late for my appointment due to the railways but that was not considered a problem by all your staff.

I took a urine sample in to the clinic, as it was for my wife the staff were all of tiss, after explaining that my wife was a patient of Mr Nathan and a nurse said that they will test the sample. Also the billing system needs to be better, not easy to pay.

Overall I was really satisfied and felt secure and well-treated. However, having been asked to attend at 13.00 for a 15.15 procedure, I was sent to the basement reception area and then left in the basement reception area for an hour and only seemed to be dealt with by a member of reception staff when I queried what was going to happen to me when she was dealing with other people. I did feel if I had not asked I might still be sitting there. It became apparent that I should have been sent to the 5th floor reception where I would have been checked into my room and taken to my procedure from there (which is what I expected to happen). This meant that my case and clothes had to go from the basement to the resus room and only then to my room on the 5th floor when I did. So later, I had to get nursing staff to find my shoes and tablet which had been left in the basement reception area, which caused me some unnecessary anxiety after my operation.

I was there for a venesection by a nurse named Jude. This is the second time I have had a venesection from Jude. Both times he has had the needle in the wrong place, had to move it around, and either not got the target amount of blood or had a long delay. This time, he also spilled the bag of my blood on the floor, which he had to clean up. He referred to it jokingly as “looking like a crime scene.” The other nurses I have had during my four other venesections have done very well. Particularly Niamh who is a star. I do not want Jude to care for me ever again.

Review of Grosvenor Place 4th Floor

Very good experience that we would recommend to anyone. We were a bit worried before coming in as we read some poor reviews on Google about the hospital being very money focussed and not very caring, but this was not our experience. We have had a good experience. The facilities are new and clean, the rooms are large. The equipment is clearly good. The nurses are friendly and caring for the most part. The physio was very good, as was Anders the neurosurgeon's specialist nurse. It is comforting to have his details so if we have any issues we can contact him. He spoke to us for a long time and gave us a lot of info about my dads condition and recovery. The food was very good. And the fact that patients get so much choice, for example about when they want to eat etc, was also good. I did appreciate the fact that the doors to the wards were locked. This is good and important. The receptionist on the 4th floor who had to let me in a few times was extremely nice and helpful. Blonde possibly polish? Really lovely lady.
