Every thing is good about this hospital .My elderly father was was in Chapel Allerton , and was very difficult and could be abusive , due to his illness ( he didn't know what he was doing)but the nurses were fantastic , and looked after him very well .I kept apologizing for his behaviour, but they said it was his illness and not to worry. I have also had other friends and family looked after there and all had very good reports on their stay. It is a lovely clean , caring place to be if you are ill, and the staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. I highly recommend it .

Very appreciative of the care and understanding of Dr Hussain and the staff in a somewhat significant skin graft

When you're in pain and feel rotten, the last thing you need is an HCA being consistently rude to you, and when you ask them not to use inappropriate or over familiar language - they have the nerve to argue, despite notices all over the place saying, among other things, that will ask how one wishes to be addressed. Instead of arguing they should be made to learn the words on the posters by heart and expect to be upbraided if they forget and upset any patient. There are some really pleasant HCAs - who are kind and helpful - it's a great pity that the rude ones let the side down because they create very long lasting unpleasant memories. The organisation at this hospital is utterly disastrous, attending outpatients is a nightmare, as an inpatient I cried much of the time. If ever I need such surgery again I would remortgage the house for private treatment rather than go there again.

I was completely satisfied with all aspects of my treatment at Chapel Alperton Hospital, Leeds.j However having travelled a journey of about 2 hours, the only small negative comment has to do with the distance we travelled, combined with the requirement to stay in the area for 2 nights. We were wisely advised to bring food to sustain us on what might have been a long day. We managed but for those like us, new to the area and having to stay over it would have been helpful ( now growing older)to have been able to access more than the coffee shop offered.

Review of C05 Rheum/Gastro Day Case Unit (0058) written by a patient

Chapel Allerton is always so clean it was easy to book in at reception. I was taken to where treatment was to take place by a very friendly young lady who asked if she could help in any way as I am a wheelchair user. My husband was with me so explained he knew how to help me transfer onto the bed etc. The doctor explained about the treatment and any side effects etc that could happen. He was efficient doing all the injections telling me each step what he was doing. I would advice anyone going to the day case ward not to worry, its really friendly.
