When you're in pain and feel rotten, the last thing you need is an HCA being consistently rude to you, and when you ask them not to use inappropriate or over familiar language - they have the nerve to argue, despite notices all over the place saying, among other things, that will ask how one wishes to be addressed. Instead of arguing they should be made to learn the words on the posters by heart and expect to be upbraided if they forget and upset any patient. There are some really pleasant HCAs - who are kind and helpful - it's a great pity that the rude ones let the side down because they create very long lasting unpleasant memories. The organisation at this hospital is utterly disastrous, attending outpatients is a nightmare, as an inpatient I cried much of the time. If ever I need such surgery again I would remortgage the house for private treatment rather than go there again.
