This request came after a routine visit for an eye test at Boots Opticians. The optician and the overall service I received was outstanding and could not be improved.

This was my first visit to the hospital. I think it is normal that there is minimal staff and facilities on a Saturday. This was no different and I don't blame the Trust savings have to be made. The appointment letter alliterated the usual. Bring your own CD if you wanted to listen to it during the examination. The hospital appeared clean although there was no clear notice on the desk or in the letter as to Saturday procedures including the closure of café facilities, this should have been in the letter I feel, so I felt my way through the hospital. It was a bit like one of those sci-fi films where another crew find an abandoned ship. The woman at reception was friendly and explained everything. I got changed in a very tired decoration wise cubicle, this was true in my opinion, throughout, clean but possibly not decorated fully since its opening in 1975. Armed with my basket having followed the two gown instructions which was mildly amusing. I made my way to the waiting room . The notice board was clear and current. I used the toilet, it was clean with the drab décor. About 10 minutes before my listed appointment I decided to use the toilet again, I have parathyroid issues which means I run the risk of soiling if I can't access a toilet immediately. As I exited there was a male nurse calling my name , as I scuttled by I apologised but he said nothing and had a stare that matched someone who had been angrily offended. He didn't speak except for a couple of questions about the referring Consultant. Entered the large clean room of the machine which was laid out in preparation. The friendly nurse from reception was there. Then the male nurse came in and said that I needed to have a patch placed on my spine. Why? I don't know What was it? I don't know Again he was abrupt no social or personal interaction at all. "Lift your shirt up" "Stand up" "Stand still". Then I was put through the test. No offer of "patchy radio stations" or my own CD. To be honest I can put up with the din if there was a technical issue. After his attitude thus far I thought it better if I said nothing. I have an impinged right shoulder and I experienced extreme pain which also impacted on my elbow and grip. I decided to tolerated the 9/10 experience because of two reasons I wanted to get the procedure to be finished also I wasn't sure that I would have been silent if I stopped the procedure for relief and he displayed or said anything in the same vein as he had shown so far. I do receive treatment for anxiety. The test finished and the young lady was pleasant and helped me rise from the bed when I explained my dilemma. The woman apologised and told me that the contents of the sticker had discharged onto my shirt. He entered, the woman had apologised but he wasn't there at the time, and there was no recognition he said "It was Primrose Oil" Did I believe him "No" Again I feel he as senior operator could and should have explained what the patch was and its use. Showed me the door and while I straightened myself out he told me to cover myself up! I had my own dressing gown. There was a woman and young girl in the waiting area. No closing farewell just the stare again as he retreated into his lair. I have no idea what issues were affecting him but that isn't my problem. I wasn't expecting him to be my best mate but this 1970's total lack of interpersonal skills is unacceptable. I worked in a high pressure environment where the 'customers' in principal were highly volatile but I did not vent my own personal issues or moods dictate how I spoke or didn't as the case might be. I'm not a shrinking violet but your member of staff was rude. Sorry but if someone else was exposed to this they could be intimidated. That is the only reason I have submitted this report.

Review of Radiology - Chapel Allerton (4329) written by a patient

I arrived an hour early as I had not been to this hospital before, I was seen 5 mins after arriving (55 mins early). Everything was explained to me before the procedure took place. The biopsy was done with the minimum of pain, and I was totally satisfied with everything that was done on that day. Everyone is quick enough to complain, so I am taking this Opportunity to say thanks for a job well done.

The only fault I have with the hospital is that there are not enough car parking spaces for all the visitors, apart from that it was very good.

I have received excellent care from the Dermatology, Rheumatology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiography departments. In addition to this all staff including receptionists, and domestics are always extremely pleasant and welcoming.

My MOHS surgery for a skin graft on my left shin was carried out at the hospital by Dr Hussain in April 2016 as one of his private patients at the Nuffield. The hospital was very clean tidy and the department very we'll run. The nurses could not have been kinder. I went to Mr Hussain's clinic there for wound dressing after the graft and was very reassured by the care I received whilst under Dr Hussain's care.
