I just thought since most of the reviews on here are some what just plain rude about the receptionist!! I think people forget that they are only human to and can only do what they are able to do or what their allowed to do !! The amount of people that use woodingdean surgery is huge which they have to deal with on a day to day basis which of some I’m sure are not very nice to them ! I personally have found them all helpful polite and happy and as for the phone lines in the morning if you only have a few phone lines and a few receptionist and hundreds of people trying to phone up for an appointment what do you expect there will be a que or no appointments blame the government not the Nhs or doctors, receptionist and most of all overall woodingdean is a great doctors and more than once helped me !!!!
I became a patient here when the other GP surgery in Woodingdean closed. Frankly, they're much better than they ever were. On the three occasions I have had to call them, they have arranged appointments the same day. The doctor has taken the time to deal professionally with my health problems and has initiated further tests to rule out more serious concerns. Given the pressure they must be under and the state of the NHS these days, they deserve a medal.
Have been a patient with this surgery for quite a few years now and have always found them extremely helpful and good. I phoned yesterday about 9.30am and got an appointment to see a Dr at 11.40 pretty good I would say. The Dr was very caring and professional and I was given the treatment that was needed. The reception staff are always cheerful and very helpful I cannot fault this practice. I've had experience of other surgeries whilst looking after my elderly Mum whom by comparison were useless in providing treatment and care that she needed. I would most certainly recommend this practice to anyone.
Not a great experience fobbed off with analgesics and treated like you are a nuisance for bothering them. All surgeries are full but I will be looking to change.
Impossible to book an appointment as you must call at 0830 only! If you work and/or have children to get to school this is impossible. You can’t book advance appointments. Only on the day and if it’s not an emergency you have no chance. Add to that the issue of being unable to take a child out of school for a GP appointment and you have no chance of seeing a doctor. Unless you lie and say it’s an emergency! Even then it’s limited.
