The nurse and the doctor were really lovely and really helpful. They answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. The receptionist wasn't very polite though and made me feel awkward before an appointment I was already scared about.

Had booked a blood test but wasn't given clear instructions that I'd have to prepare for it. I even went in to the reception to ask if I needed to fast the day before and they said no. When I turned up to have it done (having booked a month ahead- there were no sooner times available) I was THEN told that I should have fasted.
Then I was told I would hear back with the results within a week. I should have asked how I'd be contacted because when two weeks later I still heard nothing the receptionist seemed unsure of why I hadn't been called.
Everything else about how things are run were good, but found the organization of that appointment extremely unhelpful.

The doctors and nurses are professional and really listen. The time it takes to get an appointment is something I expect wherever I go so can't complain.
My only frustration is calling up asking to see my doctor and being booked in to see a nurse, without being advised. The nurses do a great job and I have only had good experiences with them, however, I knew my problem meant that I would need too see a doctor. This meant that after a week long wait, I took up ten minutes of the nurse's time only to be sent to reception to book another appointment for two weeks time. I feel that the receptionist could have asked some qualifying questions when I booked the original appt. to determine who was best to see to prevent wasting the nurse's and my own time. (this has now happened twice)
It is more of a procedural issue rather than the fault of the receptionist, but still very frustrating.

The staff especially the nurses are welcoming, kind and professional. In my experience of nearly all of them they have a superb patient manner and make me feel involved, respected and cared for in consultations and/ or treatments. On the few occasions I have seen my Doctor she has been helpful and kind. I firmly believe that all health professionals whatever level they are working at should be properly empowered and supported to provide person centred practice and be aware of the healing role this can play even when the actual health complaint or issue cannot itself be easily resolved. In general I have found the health centre practitioners to be exemplary in this respect.
Overcrowded and noisy waiting space and long waits for the drop in service are the least positive aspect of the service.

I have been registered with this Health Centre for longer than I care to remember, and I have always been extremely well looked after. For example, I have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in the last few years, and the follow-up care and treatment for myself has been exemplary. I am very happy with my GP, the nurses and the reception staff too.
