St Richards Road Surgery

I attended the surgery today well within the specified appointment time,10.30 am. I was politely told by the receptionist that the particular GP was running late for her appointments and that there were three patients to be seen before me. I informed the receptionist that I had a further appointment later that morning and must be away by 11.15 am. I waited until 11.15 am and informed the receptionist I could wait no longer. I am particularly annoyed as I made the appointment some four weeks prior, as this particular GP is generally quite elusive and appointments need to be made with her well in advance. I am always punctual for GP appointments and have great faith in the NHS of which I have always been a firm adherent. My professional life as lecturer in Health and Social Care has taught me the importance of our NHS, however, now in later life I am bemused that it has taken me several weeks to obtain the appointment which has resulted in failure. In response to your question 'Did you get great care today' I have to respond with 'No'. I shall now make a further appointment with another GP whom I hope to see over the next few days. I have always found the staff at this Practice courteous and helpful, with time to listen to one's particular needs. The nurses are likewise approachable and friendly as they take blood or jab. The surroundings and ambience of the surgery complex are modern, comfortable and spacious. I am very happy to be a patient at this surgery.
