Sandhurst is a great practice, but it is hard to get an appointment. I had to wait a week, and couldn't see my own GP. However, everything else was excellent.
A fantastic group practice, particularly Dr Joynes and Dr De Klerk. Everyone is helpful and does their best to sort out any situation. 10 out of 10 for everyone who works here.
Sandhurst is lucky to have such a good practice in our area.
As others have said the major issue is getting an appointment. It would be much more helpful to know where you are in the queue with an approximate wait time rather than a repeated message that the call will be answered "as soon as possible".
This review is in reference to one visit where I was dissatisfied - not how I feel about the practice overall.
Tues 1st March - Upon collecting my daughter from pre-school (5pm) they felt she had impetigo and suggested popping via the GP surgery on way home as local. I popped in with my 3 year old daughter and the receptionist advised no appts. I explained as there, with a 3 year old I was willing to wait till end of surgery but I was told to go to Brants Bridge.
It was now 6pm, and the receptionist there questioned why I had been directed to that service. They were surprised given I was in the reception area of the GP's with a young child that I was referred. They weren't questioning me but I felt challenged and caught in the middle of two reception teams.
After a 2hr wait at Brants Bridge I left without seeing anyone and waited until morning for an emergency apt back at SGP (after which I received your usual good practice).
I was left very disappointed the eve of 1st March. My understanding was that if a young child was already in the surgery then I could have waited to see a doctor at the end of surgery. Rather than be sent 'x' miles away with a young child approaching bedtime.
I joined this practice almost a year ago and I really can't rate it highly enough. I have had an unusually bad year health wise, and have made a lot of visits to the practice. Like all surgeries it operates under extreme pressures on occasion but I have always got an appointment when needed, even if I have had to speak to a doctor on the phone first. The staff on reception are extremely friendly and do their utmost to be helpful. I have seen several of the doctors and have found them all to be excellent. The online prescription service is a godsend!
