I an very pleased with the care at Ranworth Sugery
I went to my surgery today my first day off in a few weeks, i have been looking for spot online but there have not been many and none i was able to attend to pre book, i went and stood in a very hot waiting room with no ventilation and no access to water until i asked the receptionist to get me a glass, there were around 30 other people waiting with me.
To be honest i feel the surgery has deteriorated since Dr Sweeney retired and the loss of their previous Nurse Practitioners Moyra and Tracey, and today a big notice stating Dr Shamshad is absent from the surgery so another loss.
i felt today the surgery was running on an unsafe staffing level and the conditions within the surgery are extremely poor for patients sitting and waiting long periods of time, i have to wait and hour and a half almost to be seen, i feel someone should do something as i cannot change surgeries as all of the surgeries in this area have closed books, so i have no choice but to remain in the practice where i have been since i was a child.
Staff however remain happy and polite however they do know me very well i wonder if this would be different if this was not the case.
My concern is for the deterioration in service and i believe this must be affecting patient care, something needs to be done
Why do we bother with doctors I cant get appointment EVER
Every time I have any dealings with this surgery it is appalling, Many wrong moves they have made and caused me so many issues. Such a shame as it used to be an excellent surgery. I am now planning to move surgeries now as I cannot take much more of their terrible service
Generally GP's and staff are very helpful when you get to see them, however getting an appointment is very difficult, and yes you can walk in a sit and wait which is a good idea in principle but doesn't work for patients whom are working full-time and need an appointment for things longterm, as we don't all have the luxury of being able to just leave work and sit in a Dr's waiting room for long periods,
I am working currently 8-6 and if i need to see a GP for what ever reason i don't really stand a chance of getting to see them as walk in surgery is in the morning and the evenings get booked up.
This is the reason i find it a poor service in general but this is not the GP's fault, maybe they should consider Saturday morning surgery however i am aware this would impact on staff further.
Also staff turnover at present is high what with the loss of 2 experienced nurse practitioners and now the practice manager it reduces confidence among patients.
