Have been with this doctors for 3 years. Recently moved house but made them aware and they said that was fine until I got a new doctor. Have collected the same prescription from here for 3 years. Phoned the repeat prescription line and then went to collect, as I have done the whole three years. When arriving I gave my name and dob and the receptionist said I wasn’t on their system. She said even old patients are on their system and I wasn’t. I said I’d collected my prescription from her many times before. She simply said no, you aren’t on the system. Either was my baby. We were left with no doctor and no warning. I asked what do I do as I need my medication? I remained polite and calm as I understand this was not her fault. She said ‘don’t know’ I was now left with no doctor and not even an emergency supply of medication I’d needed for years. Obviously became anxious about this and my mum rang to ask what I can do, to simply help me. She didn’t ask for any details or reasons why this was happening just wanted to know what their procedure was for prescriptions when being removed from their system. The receptionist then gave personal information about myself to my mum that I did not give permission for and that my mum did not even ask for. Breaking confidentiality. Still not advice on what to do about medication. Luckily the lovely pharmacist next door gave me an emergency supply. I since have registered with a new doctor but need a brief record of my medication from ormeau park surgery. I asked the same receptionist for this and she refused without reason. Now I can’t get my prescription again. No other problems have ever occurred to me from any of the doctors, nurses or other receptionist. This one receptionist just seems to be horrible without reason.

Doctors are all part time or don't work on a Monday. Phone always engaged. 35 minutes wait to get through. Dr meant to ring back but never did. Messages for doctors disappear off system. Receptionists overworked and have to take the frontline with patients. Where are the doctors nowhere to be seen. I have cried in pain and frustration for a fortnight and still have no prescribe for painkillers. Altogether very unorganised surgery.

The phone is permanently engaged. At its worst, I had to hit redial 138 times just to get through to be put in the telephone queue! There is a voicemail for repeat prescriptions but it is only open at certain times - it is a voicemail! Why not have 24 hour access? The only way to contact the surgery is by phone or letter . No email addresses are given. This is 2021 - snail mail and phone??? Before Covid, average wait for an appointment was 5 weeks. You really need to plan illnesses in advance. Paperwork which takes 3-4 days in other practices can take 6-8 weeks. On two occasions prescriptions were not issued on time. Repeat prescriptions are not kept up to date. Eg, using the online service for repeat prescriptions, certain drugs can only be issued a number of times. But it is the patient who must alert staff to the need to update this - and thereby suffer the telephone system (see above) Medications are not routinely reviewed. I have been on the same meds for over 5 years and no one has ever asked if I still need them. Even registering with the practice took longer than anticipated and notes were not correctly transferred. The issues with this practice lie in the administration- I have never met such a Luddite practice with a complete refusal to move into the 20th century (even though we are now in the 21st) Initiatives such as over 50 flu jabs are not promoted - the patient has to ask. Basically - find somewhere else.

The only problem I had with this surgery was with Doctor Ian G. Rowan, who most certainly does not treat his patients with "dignity and respect", in fact quite the opposite.
