Since the surgery changed the phone from the 0845 to 01843 it's been much better for contacting
Rude, unhelpful receptionists. I have NEVER been able to get an appointment by phoning, I usually have to be late to university or work to walk up and start to queue at 7.45 to actually get one at a time I can make.
I stopped taking medications I should have been taking a while ago to help my depression because I simply couldn't get an appointment!
(Luckily I have great support around me and cope fine).
When our family doctor left we were given another one without any warning (not that this matters because we never got to see 'our' doctor anyway).
Will be moving doctors as soon as I move out.
I phoned 70 times this morning in order to get an appointment. When I finally got through at 8.05 the receptionist said that she had no appointments available because lots of the doctors were off sick. I asked if I could book for the following day and she said no I would have to phone up in the morning! I appreciate doctors can also be sick but if I'm off sick from work (I'm a teacher) a supply teacher is employed to cover my class. I'm very disappointed with this surgery and will be looking to move elsewhere.
I have just contacted the surgery to make an appointment for a smear test. Although I live in Margate, I work in Sittingbourne. I leave the Margate area at 07:00 returning at 17:25 Monday to Friday. I was informed that they could not accommodate this, there were not appointments outside of these times and I would need to 'take a days holiday' to see the nurse. There are appointments on a Saturday, I was told, but they can only see two Saturdays ahead and it is the wrong nurse on the next two Saturdays, so I would have to keep ringing back to get an appointment!!!!! There's customer service for you!
The receptionest at the surgury has very bad manners
