It can be very hard to get an appointment without at least a weeks notice but the doctors and nurses are good although it is very variable how long you wait for booked appointments when you turn up. The main criticism of this surgery is thr receptionists who are often quite rude and unwilling to communicate with patients effectively (e.g advising one test result was normal and another not but not saying which test is which). They are also unhelpful on repeat prescription orders claiming they are ready when they are not and generally passing the buck. The reception services let's down a surgery of good doctors.
I waited no more than 5 minutes for my appointment which had been booked 5 weeks in advance as a follow up to a previous appointment.
Urgent appointments are triaged by one of the practice nurses and you are seen that day if appropriate.
There is a delay in routine appointments sometimes up to two/three weeks. Sometimes I would like an appointment that isn't urgent, but would like to be seen within a week, which doesn't seem to be possible unless there is a cancellation.
Outstanding service provided by all at the Surgery. As a patient with a ongoing medical issue, the support provided is fantastic. This may be a logistic nightmare but, once you have a series of tests, then you have to make a doctors appointment to discuss the results. This appointment has to be made in competition will all other patients. Wouldn't it be nice if you make an appointment with the nurse to be also offered a doctors appointment, say 2 weeks later to review the results
A small surgery by modern standards and run in a very old-fashioned way. Only 3 GP's and most patients want to see just one of them. Got very low scores on the patient satisfaction surveys carried out by teh NHS in 2011 and 2013. Avoid
