The NHS, and GPs in particular, get bad press these days. Here's my recent experience.
Last week I saw my GP face-to-face twice for ongoing issues - no bother getting appointments.
Yeterday, Monday, I had a sudden flare up of a previous, possibly serious, condition. Contacted the surgery soon after 0800, had a call back before 0900, arranged a face-to-face appointment, and left with a prescription before 1100. This was dispensed by my local, excellent pharmacy, and I am hopeful of recovery.
It's one person's story, but if we get really good treatment, we should share, to confound the doom spreaders.
Just need to ask a question about my 91 year old mother in law. Tried three emails can’t send Receptionist told me what to do but that doesn’t work either Looked all through website refers you to different sites not helpful. JUST WANT TO ASK A QUESTION. Tearing my hair out now there’s a fault at their side
NHS consultant for 35 years and first contact with the practice, as a patent, at the turn of the year. The staff have been understanding and helpful (at a time of great pressure) as I navigate Primary Care and Pharmacy Services for the first time.
Modern technology has been embraced to facilitate patient services but the human touch has been exceptional.
The constructive suggestion I would like to make is address to the powers that be. Please, Pleas change the music you are playing in the background when holding to speak to someone. It certainly does not come over as a professional place with this music and pictures of the staff all in burlesque outfits high kicking around the surgery, not a good choice of music, inface a very poor one which from the amount of people I see or hear 0
Absolutely devastated to hear doctor mannis has resigned, he has been my family Dr for over 14 years and always been a great listener and makes time for you and you never feel rushed like you do with all the other Dr's, will be moving surgery now as all the other Dr's aren't anywgere close to his compassionate and caring nature, what a huge loss to this surgery, I wouldn't blame him for resigning as the staff and Dr's are just downright rude and unprofessional........ Never been the same since Dr mcquire retired, so sad, we wish u all the best Dr mannis and u will be sadly missed
