Unable to book appointments, telephone triage first but don't give a time if you don't answer within a couple of rings at any point in day have to start process all over again the next day

Ask where you would like you're hospital appointment rather than just suggesting south tyneside hospital as I prefer gateshead QE

If you have a long term medical condition and require the doctor to have some knowledge of you don't choose this practice. If you don't mind seeing Dr Tom, duck or Harry who arrive one month then there gone the next month, I would say this is the surgery for you. Will soon be looking to change as this is the worst practice I've ever been in. I don't say this lightly as we need our GPS but I don't rate this practice.

This surgery has gone downhill so much. Last week I missed an appointment for my 4 year old sons nasal flu vaccine. I called the surgery next day 1st thing and apologised and rebooked. I took a morning from work and my son missed a morning from school to go to the next appointment. The practice nurse was running behind (sure the person I saw who was going to give the vaccine used to be a receptionist until recently??) we were called in and told that because of an egg allergy they could do no do the vaccine and would be referred to the hospital. All the time this "nurse" called my son by the wrong name despite being corrected. This if fair enough... but the allergy is clearly listed on his medical records so why make an appointment at the surgery for the vaccine if he couldn't have it?? I tried to make an appointment for my middle son to be seen by a GP due to a skin complaint I wanted attention for. My son is 8. I was told I would have to placed on the telephone triage list... for a skin compliant which could only be diagnosed by someone from the medical profession actually seeing it. This was 9.00am this morning. It's not 2.00pm and I've still not received a call. What I have received though in the post is a letter addressed to my 4 year old son stating that as he missed an appointment last week he was at risk of getting removed from the practice! Just to recap this is the appointment I missed for the vaccine appointment they sent me for the vaccine they are unable to give him??!!! The surgery is a joke. Today I witnessed a very elderly gentleman walk into the surgery asking for a GP appointment. He was clearly unwell and needed to see the dr due to a chest complaint. He was told the same go home wait for a triage call and he'll probably have to come back in in the afternoon to see the GP. Poor man. Mayfield medical centre it's 2016. They can put a man on the moon now... but your patients can not get any Medical attention.!!!

I had an appointment today with a locum, Dr. Paul Manjooran. What an excellent doctor! Very pleased to have met this GP, and I hope he's at Mayfield more often.
