On the whole the doctors are caring and professionals, they are the reason I stay with this practice. But the receptionists are abrupt, rude, go out of their way to be as unhelpful as possible. I can appreciate that a degree of "triage" is needed to protect doctors valuable time, but there is no excuse for such appalling telephone manner. Particularly at a time where patients are likely to be be stressed and vulnerable. Wholesale re-training (with disciplinary consequences if required) is needed for reception staff.

Very hard to get an appointment... The phone is just left ringing and ringing until you give up. Sometimes it's picked up and put back down again meaning you have to go through the hassle of trying to get through to the surgery again (it's usually engaged and take about 40 attempts to even get through to the automated part) However when you can finally get an appointment the doctors are very good and caring.

The doctors at Llanishen court surgery are uncaring, unsympathetic and worse still incompetent. I have been misdiagnosed and if not for quick reaction of friends I wouldn't be alive today. My daughter was extremely ill in pregnancy with severe sickness and was told by a female doctor to go home and talk to family about a termination. Even though just over twelve months previously my daughter was told she probably wouldn't be able to have children without medical introvenion. Thankfully my daughter moved out of area and continued with pregnancy and now has a healthy baby son no thanks to any doctors at Llanishen court. Worse doctors surgery I have ever been to and if it wasn't for the fact that I'm waiting to move properties I would change.

My family and I have been with the surgery for around 2 years, having moved from another area. Overall, there aren't many positive things to say. Getting an appointment is extremely difficult, with the shortest wait time being around 3 weeks. Getting through to the surgery is almost impossible. There is no online booking and sometimes I have been ringing off and on for most of the day before someone answers. I have opted to walk there to make an appointment before as it's quicker and costs me less than getting through to the prerecord es message 18 times a day.. Reception staff are often rude and abrupt and some don't seem to know what they're doing. Another issue I've had is waiting to be seen for my appointment. In November I waited for 1hr and 40 minutes, despite having an arranged appointment. During this time neither the receptionists or anyone else told me they were running over or apologised. Two of the GPs that I've seen there have been less than helpful and I haven't been convinced that they offered me the best care- so much so that I have recently booked an appointment to have a second opinion at a private practice. The information regarding their complaints procedure is very vague on their website. It says that you need to write to the practice manager. There is no name or email address listed for this. Overall, the service this practice provides reflects poorly on the area. The practice needs to have a serious look at their procedures, including setting up an online booking system so that you can actually make appointments! They ask that people cancel unwanted appointments to reduce waiting time but I suspect that most people are unable to get through to cancel them! It's ridiculous. Note that there is also a sign indicating a zero tolerance on rudeness to reception staff but that this doesn't need to be reciprocated.

I have been with this surgery for about five years since returning back to Llanishen. The doctors surgery is always spotless, but that is as far as any positives I can say about Llanishen court surgery. Getting an appointment is difficult and unless you have an emergency then you can easily wait five weeks for an appointment. Apart from two female doctors I have found all the male doctors uncaring, patronising and dam right rude. I was misdiagnosed last year when I had serious asthma attack which nearly cost me my life. I have been refused a examination after waiting five weeks for appointment, being told to rebook with a female doctor, later being told by that female doctor that the male doctor I saw don't like dealing with gynaecology problems! .. I am moving out of Llanishen soon and although I'll miss the area, I'm very much looking forward to changing gp's to one I can trust again.
