It is virtually impossible to get an appointment never mind to see the dr you have seen before. Treatment or hospital admissions are not reviewed so there is no continuous care. Prescription requests given on their prescription line are often ignored urgent prescriptions can take up to 2/3 days The majority of receptionists are unhelpful and often quick brusque. Referrals to a consultant and advice from the consultant have taken a month to be conveyed to the patient and often only after repeated requests. They practice does nothing to make you feel care for or that your health is important to them. Dealing with this practice can often leave you with more anxiety than you started with, not a helpful experience

Absolutly shocking, was told to ring at 8:30am for an appointment, did so and was told to go to the access center as a walk in patient, so I did That, access center tells me I need an appointment with my GP so to go back there, so did that and was told I now had an appointment at the access center and to go back THERE and that they were running hours behind! All this with a severely painful back, sacked it off after a 2 hour wait at the access center and now heading to A + E just to put even MORE strain on an already struggling emergency system all because James street don't know there arses from there elbows, zero stars!

I am disappointed that I cannot, in 2019, write a positive review about a medical practice. I rarely go to the doctors, thank goodness, but my recent experiences have been appalling. It seems that I was lucky in getting an initial appointment (perhaps this was because it was the day after Boxing day!), only to have my follow up results read out to me over the phone, presumably in front of a surgery of people! Since then I have been un able to get another appointment and my condition has deteriorated significantly. I am trying to continue working and despite ringing yesterday on 27 occasions and today on 19 occasions, I have just been told that there are no appointments and need to try again tomorrow. This cannot be a workable system for the majority of people? Additionally, there is no need for a receptionist, who is often dealing with people at their most vulnerable, to be so abrupt, rude and positively dismissive. Let's remind ourselves that without patients, the receptionist does not have a job! I fear that I will be looking to a new Practice in the near future and will in the mean time have to resort to clogging up A&E unnecessarily, which is a misuse of resources.

I don’t go to the doctors often, but when I do I dread having to make an appointment. I understand the difficulties running a reception desk but the staff are awful, often even arrogant and aloof, god forbid you waste there time asking for an appointment! I am in the process of changing surgeries due to this. I am just one paitient and I know this review doesn’t make any difference but I would strongly urge others to avoid James Street at all costs.
