Kafka-esque appointment system. Based on who gets through first on the phone at 8am. Nothing online and nothing in advance.Don't know when doctors on leave are due back at work.

Dr Nick Knight was FANTASTIC for my son to see. He shook our hands, greeted us outside the door, talked to my son first and not me and didn't so much as glance at his computer until he had spoken to my son and looked him over. When he did look at his computer, he showed us what he was looking at and gave us some interesting information. Thank you Nick, previous to our visit, my son thought that MALE doctors just tapped at their computers and didn't really even look at you. You were just the sort of doctor he needed to see. THANK YOU!

Today I had the experience of ringing the surgery to make an appointment. I was number 3 in the queue. After a few minutes I was advised I was number 1 in the queue. Then the line stopped ringing, there was a few seconds of silence, and the connection was disconnected. I tried ringing again and was told again that I was number 3 in the queue. Not impressed with that so I just gave up. I thought the past problems with the telephone system had been fixed. Trying to book an appointment a few days in advance online can also be frustrating. Have actually found it impossible over the last few days to book an appointment online with a doctor who knows me. But booking online may be the easiest way to book an appointment in view of the apparent ongoing issues with the telephone system. Assuming that you have a working computer/ internet connection or smartphone.

No complaint about the GPs here but the surgery is undermined by very poor reception. If you are ill or struggling (which you probably are if in need of an appointment!) don't bother as you will have to run the gauntlet of unhelpful receptionists and policy, wait on the phone for hours or stand around at the reception desk ignored for too long and sometimes be expected to discuss private medical information in front of everyone and those within close earshot in the waiting area.

It takes a long time for the phone to be answered. I have seen the phones ring at the practice with staff not answering at times. I was deliberately given a male Dr when I requested a female Dr and did not receive an apology or any attempts for them to solve the problem. For the telephone test results the Doctors do not even call and waste my time. This practice is highly unprofessional.
