As a carer for my dad, i have issues with this pratice in regards numerous occasions on prescription errors & missing medication.
My Dad has only now been discharged by the heart specialists nurse only last year, have sent letter in regards to monitor my dad kidney function as hes on high dosage water tablet intakes.
Seems to me they didnt bother to read hospitals letters when patient has been discharge & asking the doctors sugery to keep eye on things.
When I queried the situation and my dad need bloodtest, the attitude for the receptionist was very rude saying it was down to the patients to book bloodtest. I stated about the hospital letter & said the surgery was to keep monitor the situation.
Seems when you book appointments with them via the receptionist, they want to go into depth what the appointments are actually being made for.
For which one itself inappropriate to be ask at the desk & for one their are NOT medically trained to be the judge of the source of your diagnosis.
It needs improving in all areas of the surgery, & requires abit more understanding when it comes to patients needs.
this reasonable surgery is totally oversubscribed. Impossible to get seen and feel rushed when you do.
What is great...
They are quite near to where i live...
What i like...
There is a pharmcy on site...
What is happening now...
They are always advertising for more patients from a far & wide area... There are hardly any appointments, the Doctors keep leaving, the receptionists are rude & want to know why you need an appointment... You have to wait 3 weeks plus to see your usual Doctor !
Miss the great old days of Dr Coxon, Dr Grey & Dr Browne !!!
Can never get an appointment! Have to explain your ailments to unfriendly receptionists who then decide if they are to make you an appointment or not!!! I swear they're on a power trip & think they're the actual doctors!!!
Difficulty in booking an appointment. Online system, seems to have a loop hole, where patients can 'block book' appointments and just not to turn over if they don't need them without cancelling properly. Strong suggestions to do a discharge and 're-instaiting' patient status fines have be made on a social website, which seems to be a good possible solution to the problem.
Some receptionists are amazingly good in their manners and informations, some of them totally the opposite, even deciding when an appointment is deemed urgent or not without any medical training at all. In some cases extremely rude!
Doctors turnover has only gotten worse in the past 5 years. The stubbornness of the Partners not to allow new partners into the practise have costs the surgery to loose amazing good doctors and when queried, they blame the doctors who left the practise rather than taking responsibility. The excuses given are in some cases, completely patronising suggesting that doctors do not want to work long hours! Who on earth trains as a doctor, has a practise of over 15 years and then complaints of long working hours?! The truth is they leave when an opportunity to become a partner somewhere else comes available.
Locum doctors are not interested in even reviewing one's history before walking in, which is also a waste of resources!
