Eastwick Park Medical Practice

My husband was given an appointment at short notice. The receptionists were friendly and extremely helpful. One hears such tales of unfriendly receptionists in some practices who are really difficult to get past to actually see a doctor, but not here! The consultation was on time and the doctor listened intently and couldn't have been more helpful. We are very appreciative and full of praise.
This morning I visited the practice in the hope of getting an appointment.
The lady receptionist immediately located my details and efficiently offered me an appointment with Dr Galloway for the afternoon which was gladly accepted.
Dr Galloway listened attentively and then explained, in appropriate layman's language, his assessment of the situation. He recommended further actions which will be taken.
Perhaps I attended at a tranquil time, but the prevailing atmosphere is of a well managed unit.
" I can understand why you feel..."
With that my daughter relaxes, and the consultation with Dr Kotedia is short, useful and results in a sensible way forward. No fuss, no bother, we are understood and we know that the doctor will prescribe the right remedy for this ill.
We have been patients at Eastwick Park for a decade (patients of Dr Barr). We are generally healthy so we're not there often (fingers crossed) but this treatment is absolutely typical of our experience. This partnership of doctors treats us as equals, our consultations are adult-to-adult, our treatment outcomes effective.
Sounds simple doesn't it - real humans treating us with respect and using their far superior knowledge to heal us without patronising or excluding us from our own care decisions.
...and in case you're wondering, it's the whole team. The receptionists are efficient but not prying. There's always a smile and a readiness to help. We are treated with respect so, naturally, we return that respect.
Fab job team...and thank you!
The patient is listened to by receptionists, practice nurses and doctors in this practice and treated with courtesy and care. The receptionists could give lessons to other GP Practice receptionists on how to treat patients.
My care with Dr Martin the other day was very good as usual. I had to wait 4 weeks to see her though.
It depends on the problem but certain issues I like to see a doctor who has known me for some time & knows me as a person which I feel is very important instead of just looking at a computer screen.
Dr Martin wanted me to make another appointment to see her again following tests & I am having to wait 5 weeks which I feel is totally unacceptable, especially as I've been registered with her for many years.
Dr Barr is just as hard to see too. I don't know how so many people can make appointments so far ahead & I expect in a number of cases, forget to turn up
