We are in difficult times, all types of services stretched, so users should be reasonable and have some patience and be polite and respectful and not take out their frustrations on staff and doctors. The wait on the phone is not as long as some suggest, and receptionists do their best to help when you get through, and you can get a GP appointment where it is neccessary. Head of Practice Dr Jadoon is an excellent GP and i am sure that the practice will continue to improve under him as the country as a whole continues to get back on its feet after the pandemic and economic pressures...but recruitment difficulties countrywide for GP's and other staff, and increasing demands on GP practices given the state of NHS hospitals means it is very tough for all GP practices, so users need to appreciate this and be reasonable in their expectations and demands.
This surgery is run so stupidly inefficiently it's amazing they manage to open the doors of a morning. It used to take over 100 calls to get through, til they put in a call queuing system. Where it now takes over 90 minutes to answer. And don't expect to be able to book an appointment online because despite their being a system with the practice and all the staff there, the system has been disabled from allowing people to book appointments. In what crazy world does that make sense?
When you do, you get called back because the staff don't listen or take notes the first time.
And then if you do manage to get an appointment, you're waiting over an hour to be seen. And fingers crossed you dont up with a HCA that does everything needed and again no record of anything.
You're safer asking for help from the vets on Malpas Road
I hve been with bringing surgery for 20 yrs. I have always had excellent treatment. Recently I had abdominal pain quite severe and had an appointment that day with dr jardoon who requested an urgent scan.
Today I spoke to Alison , with concerns after being discharged from hospital. She was professional polite and reassuring to chat to. She allayed some of my fears.
On the whole I hve to speak as I find, that treatment is good.
I have been a patient of this surgery for 20+ years and have NEVER had a reason to fault the practitioners , nurses or staff. They are always polite, caring and empathetic and always seem to put the patient first. During the pandemic, I have had neurosurgery following a large brain bleed. Away from the hospital, I am thankful that this is my surgery.
I agree with the other review the attitude from the receptionist when you call or go in is absolutely appalling lack of respect and it's as if they don't even want to be there at the end of the day no matter how bad a day your having especially when working for the bus you should always treat patients and customers with respect not give them attitude from the minute you answer a call or talk no need of it I'm surprised there are patients left at this surgery.
