All I want is to be able to do, is book an appointment with a Dr. shouldn't be this difficult? any Dr! I would have to phone back on the 18th oct!?? To then be able to book with a Dr. Feeling interrogated by reception? This isn't right. They are not qualified clinicians and some things are personal and I only want to speak to a Dr.

Suggested improvements
Book me an appointment with a Dr please.

This is the worst surgery, I have come across. Receptionist are rude and appalling. Ellie hangs up on me 3 times, ending my call with a very sarcastic attitude. I strong believe she needs training regarding her role how to talk to patient. She passed my symptoms to the doctor he or she is telling her to tell me to go A&E. obviously the doctor is refusing to give me an appointment over the phone which I usually have….Covid 19 is increasing I don’t want to go to the hospital to wait for 10 hours. When the GP could have the decency to at least have a 5 mins consultation over the phone like the other GP has done in the past within the last 2 years due to Covid-19. Don’t use my diabetic as an excuse.

Suggested improvements
The GP could have offered me a telephone appointment for further discussion about my symptoms. It’s kind a muscle spasm with diabetes I was suffering from.. It’s clearly states when I googled about spasms you need to see a doctor it doesn’t say to go A&E. I won’t classified it as an emergency to go A&E. I will be taking this matter further as I go doctors and consultants in my family. I asked the receptionist Ellie, the GP name. she wouldn’t give it to me….I will writing to the BMJ regarding the GP who was on duty that day going forward.

I had to visit Dr Andrew Burgess because of very bad painful shoulder once again I received the best attention for my problem and was given an injection to relieve the pain, next day I was able to live without pain . Every time I visit Dr Burgess I leave the practice feeling that I have been listened to and was not just a number. I have been with the practice 40 years and I have never had a reason to complain.

The practice manager and lead Doctor have refused me primary medical care for no valid reason. The MP and NHS England themselves, have been trying to tell Beechwood GPs for 4 years, that they must put me back on to their patients list again. But the practice manager and lead doctor have refused.!!! Others that I know of were also refused emergency care from this Beechwood surgery. They refused a very young child because he normally lived in London. Their attitude is extremely poor towards those whom they perceive as more vulnerable in society. They insist on harvesting as much ID data as possible from patients - which they don't need to give primary care. Goodness knows which lap top left on the train, these data sources end up on! Beechwood's newish practice manager craves personal data from us, and when we withold some of it for legitimate reasons, she tyhrows you off the patients list that you were on previously for over 20 years! I have serious health issues requiring surgery but still Beechwood refuses to treat me or to be my GP. This is particularly ironic as I helped to crate teh surgery in its present form over a period of 3 years - helping to establish it with a forward thinking approach and building full of the latest in IT at the time. The lead doctor then would be ashamed of the way in which Beechwood Surgery has now turned out with regard to this patient registration issue that I am complaining to them about. There is only one receptionist left from those past days and she is still brilliant. The rest give an altogether poor, condescending and at times, aggressive service to their patients. (If your request is out of the ordinary as far as the practice manager and the bulk of her staff are concerned)

I switched to this practice because I'd found doctors at other surgeries in Brentwood patronising & old-fashioned. I'm a professional woman, with a business & all women do not have the same concerns or want to be treated as a 'little woman', which was what was happening. I can honestly say that every doctor I've had at Beechwood over the ears has listened, really listened & treated me as an individual. particularly Dr Banka who has very sensitively & intelligently looked after both myself and my daughter. It is an absolute pleasure to have an appointment with her. She sparkles with intelligent concern, good, practicable advice & forthright opinion. She takes time & suggests time as an answer to issues but isn't afraid to investigate. As a consequence, going to the surgery is no longer a mild ordeal but just one of the things I do , very occasionally to maintain myself in tip top health. My daughter & I are both super fit & happier I life than we have ever been. Thanks Dr Banka.
