It is extremely difficult to get an appointment to see a doctor unless one calls the surgery when it opens and of course many people call at the same time.
It was even more difficult to see a nurse to have a blood pressure measurement:The wait was about one month.
It is clear that a new system is required and more staff are required.
My Dexa scan results taken at the Pembury hospital in unbridge Wells hospital disappeared for months and the MRI scan taken in a mobile unit at the hospital in East Grinstead also disappeared, so that the staff at the health center had to chase them up many times. This is a waste of time and causes delays in treatments
I don't use the surgery much but on the occasions where myself or my family do need to see a doctor I have not experienced any problems. Appointments in all surgeries appear to be a problem but in the event of an emergency, you will always be offered a telephone consultation or an emergency appointment. All of the GP's are friendly, efficient and caring as are all the staff. The surgery is clean and tidy, prescriptions are always done on time without any problems.
