Can doctors do a urine test when someone is suffering pain when passing urine. If this was done with my husband, he might be on the road to recovery now. I should've not had to go and get a sample bottle from the doctors as it should have been done at the appointment . When I did get a sample bottle from the doctors after telling them that there might be blood in my husband's urine as there was coloured stains on the bed sheets and in his pants, my husband took it in the next day and was told by the receptionist that it was no use as the doctor hadn't requested it.He had an appointment by phone which was half an hour late and he missed it as he had to get to work. After a phone call to the doctors they allowed him to give a sample and said that he had an infection. The service that my husband received was absolutely diabolical.

It makes me anxious just thinking about going to this surgery. That's if you can even get an appointment. I have long term mental health issues but these have never been addressed by this surgery. Their sole aim is to cut costs and deny you your medication. I was on antidepressants that were working fine but they took me off them and now I'm back to sleepless night and suicidal thoughts. My much needed asthma medication has been halved, forcing me to now but extra inhalers off the internet costing a fortune. They also refused to prescribe my contraceptive pill after I told them I would not be wearing a pointless muzzle or visor to attend the surgery, forcing me, once again, to buy off the internet. I'm pretty sure they are acting illegally by saying I can't attend the survey unless I'm muzzled. Never mind, I won't miss going here - the staff are all abrupt, in a hurry to get you out, and are not interested in your concerns.

My wife has reviewed this surgery via a different site and reading all the reviews makes you realise that you are not alone in becoming fed up.I agree with the previous review and.that just having to go to the surgery starts to make you feel unwell as you have no idea what doctor or situation you are going to be in or how difficult it is going to be to get the help and medicine you need ,if the doctor is still a student and younger than your youngest child so you feel uncomfortable discussing embarrassing or difficult symptoms that very often turn out to be “non sinister” but never the less are terrifying when you first encounter them most especially “lumps bumps and pain”.I have a physically demanding job and even had the experience of being diagnosed (2014)a problem with my “narbs “ and sent off home with no medication and left more confused than when I arrived from my appointment only to find out two years later that it translated to a “ trapped nerve” . As while accompanying my daughter to a specialist I heard the same accent and then a doctor with an English accent translating when the patient looked as blank as I had when he was told about his “narbs” . My “narb” took three months to heal as I worked daily on the damaged ankle and had to self medicate and buy my own supports and as I said I had no idea which part of the ankle was the “narb. Yes ,we laugh about it now but really none of us had a clue what the doctor was saying and we googled to try and find which bone in the ankle was called the”narb”.This surgery could be great but neither the doctors nor the staff are invested in anyway in the patients and this is why so many patients don’t even bother going to the doctor anymore. They say they can not function because they have 12k patients but whenever we attend the waiting rooms as usually very empty and definitely a far cry from 12k patients and the staff do not look pressured at all as a matter of fact there is usually more staff than patients in the building .They should walk a mile in their patients shoes literally or do a week at the walk in centre .My family try home remedies and self help as much as possible and other than that I can’t recommend EJ Pharmacy high enough .EJ Pharmacy have cured ,advised and helped our family consistently for more than 18 years and you will get the right advice and every ounce of help they can possibly give you to help you back to good health. They even helped me when I fell in through their door having been left clinging to the reception wall at Alvaston medical centre unable to walk or stand after lifting something and as I thought “ breaking my back “ .The receptionists just sat and watched as I half dragged half clinging to the wall made it to the desk only to have them turn me away and send me to A and E when I asked for an appointment. We promptly went to EJ Pharmacy who said if the disc had slipped I wouldn’t have even been able to move and advised that it had probably almost slipped the disc and gave all the relevant advice and medication required to get back to normal and saved us and NHS services a wasteful trip to A and E . I hope this review has been helpful.

I have never had a positive experience at this surgery in any regard and now find that just having to go there for reviews causes extreme anxiety

I have recently moved to this area and have long standing illnesses. I was wary of changing doctors as my previous doctors knew and understood my conditions. But I cannot fault the care and service given from the receptionist team to the asthma nurses and the doctors themselves. This surgery is efficient caring and extremely helpful. I have great confidence in getting the care needed. Thank you x
