I took this medicine in the morning with my iron and multi-vitamins and minerals to ensure all were taken daily.

I need to take this medicine because I have acid reflux, plus I take Clopidogrel every morning so it helps protect my stomach. I have been taking Lansoprazole for about 8 years and have had no side effects.

I suppose that the side effects which I experience far out weigh the stomach pains I get when taking aspirin. The side effects I get with Lanzoprosol are severe cramps in my hands and legs, but not all the time. The choice I have is , cramps or stomach pain. Because the cramps are infrequent and the stomach pain last as long as I take Aspirin. The Lanzoprozol counteracts the Aspirin side effects and so I put up with cramps. My doctor did drop the dosage of the Lanzoprozol from 30mg to 15mg and for a while it worked but the stomach pains returned so I am again taking 30 mg

I have suffered with acid reflux for many years and then started to lose my voice. I was prescribed Lansoprazole for this but knew it was a proton pump inhibitor and did not want to be reliant on it. Following investigation we discovered a small nodule in my throat which was clearly affected by the acid and I was advised to take the medication religiously...which I now do. Touch wood, I haven't lost my voice since and I have had not oesophageal pain. No side effects for me.

Zoton is one of many Proton pump inhibitors which turn off the natural acid into the stomach. For me it was prescribed for chronic inflammation of the gut. I stopped taking it for two years but started again using Pantoprazole , another of the same, to offset prescribed asprin an Nsaid which I was told not to take. I started regular visits to the GP for a host of complaints over another 2 year period before requesting a blood test for B12 deficiency. It was proved positive and now have take b12 injections. I recommend that anyone prescribed this medicine should be monitored for b12 as a matter of course. In my case it would have saved both me and the NHS a great deal of time trouble and expense.

Profile

Lansoprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Lansoprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
