Lansoprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Lansoprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
No side effects. Stopped the reflux problems. Only need one a day. Should I be having spicy food for dinner, say a curry, I take one prior to eating. This is as prescribed by my Doctor.
Marketed first 25 years ago under the brand name Zoton It was the first proton pump inhibitor It works by controlling the amount of acid your pump sends into your stomach We even sold it in hospital to reduce the need for so many ulcer ops because Zotan+ antibiotics healed small Now it is very widely prescribed by drs to protect stomachs from many forms of gastric irritant drugs such as non steroidals After 18 years use I have yet to have any side effects
i was on this from December 2016 until sometime this year it was for my bariatric surgery but I've got a cast iron stomach so I was taken of it. whatever medication your doctor is prescribing you is for a reason.
