I was prescribed this medicine for pain relief after a foot operation, to be taken along side Co-Codamol as necessary. I found it good as a secondary pain relief and still use it occasionally 4 weeks after the operation. I've had no noticeable side effects.

I have been using Ibuprofen very carefully for pain arising from a vascular malformation in the left mandible, which was operated on a week ago under general anaesthetic. The pain in my jaw was managed, after trial and error, by 1 X Ibuprofen 400mg plus 2 X Paracetamol 500mg twice a day (daytime). The way I administered the painkillers suited me. There were never any side effects. At the moment I am still in post-operative discomfort, but the signs are good. I do not yet know if I shall have to continue the use of painkillers, but I hope not to.

I took Ibruprofen as soon as symptoms started and as stated by doctor for at least 24hrs. In conjunction with exercises given, I was relieved of pain.

Works for me whether it's aches, period pains, tooth aches etc. Works well in conjunction with paracetamol. Never had a stomach problem with either.

Profile

Ibuprofen is used to relieve pain from various conditions such as headache, dental pain, menstrual cramps, muscle aches, or arthritis. It is also used to reduce fever and to relieve minor aches and pain due to the common cold or flu. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking your body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. This effect helps to decrease swelling, pain, or fever.
