Flu jab

If a flu jab is there to help and not hinder I see only positivity in having it done
As a carer I was adviced that having the flu jab was a good idea as it would prevent me from getting the flu/cold. I am so happy that I agreed to have the flu jab I have not had a bad cold or flu since. I have received the jab for the past two years. I would recommend to anyone that is eligable to receive.
You catch flu about twice in your life time. A cold is something very different. Any flu vaccination is valuable (and some years they work better than others) If you have been offered a flu jab then take it.
The difference between a cold and flu is easy. If you saw a £20 note on the floor you would bend down and pick it up - if you had a cold. If you had flu you'd leave it where it was - that's how ill you feel.
Most people have flu once or twice in their life. What people call "flu" is usually a bad cold but real flu is horrible and life threatening particularly when you are older.
A friend described a good way for a patient to work out whether it's flu or not.
If you have cold and see a £20 note on the pavement you pick it up.
If you have flu and see a £20 note you leave it and make for home.
Anything that can help your not catching it is worth doing so how ever good flu vaccination is - have it anyway.
Rarely are there any side effects.
