I attended the Walton Centre under the care of Mr Jibril Osman-Farah for MR- guided focused ultrasound thalamotomy. At my first consultation I felt confident and cared for, Mr Farah was professional he explained the procedure, listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. While waiting for the procedure Mr Farah’s secretary was helpful in arranging appointments to accommodate my travel from the north east and planned holidays. On the day of the procedure the whole team on Jefferson ward were professional ,caring and friendly . I was very anxious about the procedure but Mr Farah and the large team of many professionals were exceptional and although it is not a pleasant experience they did their best to make me as comfortable as possible . The results were instant and amazing . My right hand is tremor free and I still find it hard to believe . Mr Farah has given me my life back and I will be forever grateful to each and everyone of the team .

This was my second procedure by Mr Farah at the Walton Centre, the care I received during both procedures has been exceptional, Mr Farah and his team are kind , caring and put you at ease straight away, I was obviously anxious about further surgery but knew I was in the best possible hands with Mr Farah as he is an excellent consultant who i trust implicitly. I had to stay overnight on Dot Ward this time and the staff looked after me very well , the neuro modulation team who work along side Mr Farah and his secretary Louise are always on hand to help and assist me. I am very grateful to have such excellent care

Mr Osman-Farah is a wonderful doctor who takes time to listen to the patient and is very respectful and courteous. His knowledge is absolutely unsurpassed in my view, and his obvious dedication to his work is both amazing and, as the patient, extremely reassuring. My condition, Trigeminal Neuralgia, was “life-changing” at the onset. But with Mr Osman-Farah as my Neurosurgeon I was able to receive surgery to remove a brain tumour in 2021 which immediately took away the intense pain I had endured for 3 years previously. In addition, his clinical team at The Walton Centre were absolutely wonderful and I was always aware during my three admissions that I was being looked after by an expert group of clinicians. The whole team of staff at this hospital are excellent from the very top right down to the domestics, and I cannot fault any of the people and staff I met there. I cannot think of anything constructive to suggest how the patient experience might be improved upon because the whole time I was an inpatient I was 100% happy with every detail of my care. After surgery and recovery I literally felt like I had been “given my life back” and I have continued to thrive purely because of that episode of care. I am an ongoing patient on a 12 month recall, and I am so grateful to know that I am able to contact Mr Osman-Farah at any time between the annual recall process should I have any issues relating to my condition. Mr Osman-Farah’s medical secretary is also a very warm, efficient lady, and extremely helpful and thorough in her role.

I was admitted to the Walton Center on 29/2/24 for Ultrasound Thalamotomy by Dr. Jabril Osman-Farah my Consultant Neurosurgeon. I was apprehensive on the day, the nurses and staff were very helpful and made me feel at ease in the day care ward. My procedure had to be delayed by an emergency and I wasn’t advised of this at the time, maybe someone could have told me of this rather than me worrying. I eventually went to the theatre around 2.30pm approx. My concern was being place into the MRI scanner for a lengthy time, but all went ok. The procedure went well with amazing instant results. I wish to thank Dr Farah and his team for giving me a better quality of life and I await for my right hand to be treated. Many thanks. Irene Howarth
