The care I received from Mrs Carmichael was excellent. She ensured I understood the information that I was provided, that I had explored all the options available to me and that I was clear on what the impact of the surgery was. Her structured approach gave us a great deal of confidence and she ensured at evert appointment that there was time to ask and answer questions. I felt I could be open and honest with her about my concerns and that these were noted. She supported me through the surgery and through my results and I feel confident in my ongoing care.

I have had a risk reducing bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction & have been privileged to have Mrs Carmichael as one of my surgeons. I have had & continue to have the absolute best care from this lovely lady, who completely invests herself in her patients. I have hit a few bumps in the road to recovery & Mrs Carmichael has been & continues to be by my side throughout. She has gone above & beyond to ensure that I get the best care possible. She truly is a wonderful, kind, compassionate lady & I am so glad that I am under her care.

Mrs Carmichael is a very caring and kind lady. She explained my operation to me in great detail and answered any questions I asked honestly and in a way that was easily understood. On the day of my operation Mrs Carmichael and her team greeted me very warmly and reassured me. Thanks too must go to Burton breast care team who have been amazing. Mrs Carmichael has said that she will be operating on my other breast to reduce it down in size to my operated breast. I cannot thank Mrs Carmichael enough for everything she has done for me.

My experience was truly amazing. Obviously it was a very frightening time never imagining I would have breast cancer. However from the beginning everything moved very quickly, which I was surprised at. My operation was 31st January 2022. I received fantastic care from all the hospital staff at Burton Hospital. The Breast Care Unit I cannot praise highly enough, they were all caring, very helpful and made me feel very safe, whatever they would have told me to do I would do it. Mrs.Carmichael's work is nothing short of amazing, I experienced no pain after the operation at all and are healing very well. I am glad Mrs. Carmichael got to give me the good news she had removed all the tumour and there was no further signs. I was one of the lucky ones that received good news from Mrs.Carmichael I do not know how she gives the news to those not as lucky. I cannot praise Mrs. Carmichael enough from the moment I met her I felt I was in very safe hands. I will be writing to Dr. Magnus Harrison, Chief Executive of Derby and Burton NHS to let him know of my experience.

Mrs Carmichael and her team are very professional but equally very sympathetic to the needs of their patients. I felt from the moment I met Mrs Carmichael that I would be in safe hands. I was encouraged to ask questions and despite my easy acceptance of my diagnosis the team wanted to ensure I fully understood the treatment offered to me. I never felt as SAFE as did when I went into surgery with the skills and support from her team. She went to great lengths to explain about the trial for the locator and I felt by taking part, I could be paying it forward and progress in procedures in the future.
