Not a lot that I can say that’s not already been said Dr Sabur Malek is a fantastic surgeon and a wonderful person. He explains everything to you and listens to all your questions and concerns, I was in a lot of pain with both my hips especially with the right hip couldn’t even get dressed without help. My local clinic got me an appointment with Dr Malek and I count my self extremely lucky that I did. He put me at ease straight away. Have since had both hips done and now pain free and back doing all the things that I did before. So if you need a hip replacement and have Dr Malek in your corner grab it with both hands. Thanks again Dr Malek

My total knee replacement was completed in February 2023. Prior to this I could hardly walk which also effected my general health, I have played golf all my life unfortunately this was no longer possible and walks with my wonderful wife took a back seat basically at 68 life looked pretty grim. Along came a quite wonderful man who explained all the pros and cons of my knee replacement. I placed myself in his more than capable hands. Nearly a year on I play golf too many times a week, regularly walk with my wife and life looks pretty good. I still understand the healing process is ongoing but Mr Malek keeps me informed which in itself is reassuring. The journey I took was not easy but the ability to discuss with him, the information available through the NHS and the many visits to my physiotherapists made the journey much easier. So a big thank you Sabur to you and all your team for giving me my life back.

I am writing this review because I am so pleased with my new knee. Mr Malek operated on me for a full knee replacement four months ago: I can now straighten my leg, and walk tall again. Before the operation I had been in pain for many years with osteoarthritis. From beginning to end, I found Mr Malek to be very caring in his manner, straightforward and helpful in his approach. He was clear about my options and their pros and cons, explained the procedures to me and answered all my questions. He came to see me before and after the surgery and I found it very reassuring to have such continuity of care. The physio team were also brilliant. Doing the exercises was challenging at times, but we persevered and they offered me tremendous support in and out of hospital and were key to my recovery. Thank you so much to all the team who helped me, it is very much appreciated.

I have had both knees replaced the left in February 2022 and the right in June 2023 and I can honestly say it’s the best decision I ever made. Mr Malek is an absolute gentleman and I will forever be indebted to him and his team. He has the time to talk to you as a person and explain everything that will happen to put your mind at ease. Mr Malek has given me back my life. I would also like to mention the nursing staff and the lady who brought food and drinks they were all amazing the care I received was second to none. I highly recommend Rowley Hall Hospital and Mr Malek and his team

I have been incredibly lucky to have had two hip replacements done by Mr Malek. I was only 58 when I was first referred to him with hip pain and I assumed that I would be given steroid injunctions to help with that. On my first visit he immediately said that as my arthritis was bad in the joint we should go straight for a replacement. He explained that as it would only worsen it was better for him to do it sooner than later. The operation was done and under his care I recovered very quickly and returned to work 8 weeks later. The same happened with my other hip. Mr Malek changed my life. I can now walk completely pain free. I have absolutely no regrets about having this done and I count my blessings for the forward thinking, expertise and care that Mr Malek gave me.
