The service at Ramsey West Midlands hospital was first class from the minute I walked in to the moment I was discharged.
I went to Stourside for my consultations and to Halesowen for my operation. Both were spotlessly clean & staff friendly.
The anaesthesist team were great, it was my first time in hospital and they made me feel very relaxed.
I had my hysterectomy on 30/01/24, the nurse who looked after me on the night I had my operation was an absolutely angel, she was so kind, caring and cheerful. Sadly I can't remember her name, but a huge thankyou to her.
My only complaint was before my op. I was admitted at 12.30pm. I was shown to my room, seen by Mr Muammar, anaesthesist, physio & kitchen lady, all were friendly, caring & lovely.
Then my admission nurse did all the necessary tests etc. At 1.45 pm my husband, who was waiting downstairs, asked if he could come to my room, as I was now just waiting for op, he was told he couldn't as I was about to go down to surgery.
THREE hrs later, I was still alone in my room, hadn't seen my nurse since 1.30, and no idea why my husband was told I was about to go to surgery at 1.45pm.
My nurse only came to tell me what was happening at 4.45pm after my husband had phoned to see what was going on. I eventually went to surgery at 5pm. I hadn't been allowed water for 2 hours prior to admission, so since 10.30 I hadn't had a sip of water, if my surgery was 5pm then surely I could have have some water up until 3pm. That was my only complaint about the whole process, if I had been kept informed & my husband been allowed to wait with me as I was told he could, then the service would have been 100%.
The service I received the night of and the day after my operation was exceptional, can't fault anything post op and on discharge. Lovely staff and lovely food but sadly I had no appetite to do it justice.
Thank you
Along with Mr Malek, the staff at West Midlands Hospital were amazing, cannot fault anyone there, so helpful and friendly, special thanks to Dan and Matt for putting me at ease before the op
I was treated with great care and Attention. always very Professional.
Good
I am 69 years young.
I have visited the West Midlands hospital 3 times.
2 total hip replacements and 1 total knee replacement so I think my opinion is based on experience I have had. This definitely does not mean I want to go there again.
However when you are treated with dignity, respect, care ,kindness then you know, even though you are going through a major trauma to your body. You are in the best possible place.
Recently spent 2 days at this lovely small hospital, and what can I say... I had the most excellent care from the many different staff who looked after me throughout, all the various nurses, etc and catering staff, they were all brilliant. Also, a special thanks to my Consultant Mr Basem Muammar who did a fantastic job. My room & ensuite with tv was immaculately clean, spacious and comfortable. The food was always freshly cooked and beautifully presented. Felt like being in a 5 star hotel, was sad to leave!! Thank you everyone for making my stay a wonderful memorable experience.
Right from entering the building I was welcomed and made to feel comfortable. I was escorted to my private room wherei settled in. My designated nurse came and introduced herself to me and explained what would be happening. The anesthetist came and introduced himself and really made me feel at ease especially when he said he would be popping me off to sleep and looking after me. Mr Basem Muammar also came in to check I was OK and that he would see me in theatre and asked if I had any questions. I didn't have any as everything had been explained to me. A nurse then took me to theatre where I was put to sleep. When I woke up everything was done and I was taken back to my room. The nursing staff were brilliant and really caring. Nothing was too much trouble. Then it was time for my meals which I pre ordered before going to theatre. The meals were perfect. I would like to thank Mr Muammar for being such a brilliant surgeon and excellent aftercare.
When having surgery at West Midlands Hospital, I can honestly say that it was the best care I’ve ever received. The staff couldn’t do enough for me once I’d had my operation. They really eased me prior to my surgery as I was feeling anxious. Once my surgery had been completed and I was in the recovery room, the staff couldn’t do enough there either, they even held my hand once I’d come round as I was a bit panicked. Overall my experience was great and would highly recommend this hospital.
Staff were caring, kind and listened to me when I had a concern or question. Fantastic team. Honestly can't recommend them enough
