I have to say that it was such a relief to put my daughter in the hands of Mr Kerr not only is he the best surgeon in the whole wide world to me, but he is kind and compassionate and caring too. He called my Rhi 'special' and admitted she was a challenge with a 13hr operation acoustic neuroma removal. I am indebted to him forever and will never be able to express my feelings of gratitude for this wonderful man who was so very present, protective and visible all the way through.

Firstly please except our apologies. This review should have been submitted 2 1/2 years ago! On Boxing Day 2012 our mum collapsed and was taken to the JR and was diagnosed with a brain tumour. The consultant who we saw wanted to refer the case to Mr Kerr as in his opinion he was the only surgeon with the experience to take on the operation, however, the problem was that Mr Kerr was away in Scotland for New Year and it was proving difficult to get hold of him. The original surgeon managed to get hold of Mr Kerr and upon hearing about the case did not hesitate to come back down from Scotland and do the operation on New Years Eve. After an operation that lasted approximately 9 hours Mr Kerr emerged from the operation and met with us and said that he had removed the majority of a golf ball sized tumour and he had never seen anything like it before but was pleased with the way the operation went. Mr Kerr, even though he had been in surgery for 9 hours took the time to answer any questions we had and put our minds at ease. 2 1/2 years later I am pleased to say our mum has made a full recovery and we have Mr Kerr to thank. He truly is a gifted surgeon. Thank you so very much. The Linnington family.

I have been under this wonderful mans care for 11 years , he is professional , caring and amazing . He has operated on me several times for brain tumour and CSF leak . Although it is upsetting that my tumour is still growing ( benign menigioma ) I am glad am still under his care . You could not ask for a nicer man to be looking out for you , and as others have said he often pops in to see how you are even when off duty and I know he came to see me , although I was asleep , when he was going through his own personal tragedy . It has been a pretty rubbish thing having a brain tumour and associated problems , but Mr Kerr has been a brilliant doctor and I have every confidence in him , so although it is still ongoing I know am in the best possible hands .Thank you to you and your brilliant team

I cannot recommend Mr Kerr highly enough. He has of course, up to now, saved my life but more than that he has been a trusted support for my family. He has been honest, caring and shown great interest in all the family in my treatment. He has proved to be hugely skilled at his job, has a wonderful manner with both patients and their worried families and has kept the various health care streams fully updated. Mr Kerr manages to strike the right balance between treating me like a reasonably intelligent and informed person, involving me all the way in the process, and a non health professional needing some support with the very complex medical decisions my 7 year journey with him.

My initial contact with John Radcliffe hospital was may 2013, MRI scan within two weeks which showed a large brain tumour. Mr Kerr operated (8hrs surgery) and saved my life and a very possible life of severe disability. He is a wonderful surgeon and a lovely approachable man with excellent bedside manner. His team are to be congratulated on their professionalism and skill. My treatment has been ongoing with radiosurgery and continued MRI. Thankyou so very much Mr Kerr .
