I researched the net for a highly recognised Professional Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialised in knee replacements. Peter James is listed in the top 3 in United Kingdom. My James is personable and likeable Surgeon. He is accommodating and takes the time to listen to you. He also has a wonderful gift of leaving you with a ‘neat scar’ as he does not use staples! I am now having my other knee replacement and am booked in with him for 2nd August…sadly they have just had to cancel due to lack of beds. But I will struggle on and wait for him as he is, as far as I am concerned, the best. There is plenty of information out there about what he has achieved and continues to improve upon.

AMAZING! After 4 previous surgeries on my knee at a another hospital, my knee was ruined. Mr james took on a hard case and approached with caution. As soon as he could operate though, he did. I cant thank him enough. My leg did not move at all when i met him. Now i can pretty much do anything again. I'm not going to let any other surgeon look at my legs again. Thankyou so much Mr James

I have been looked after by Mr Peter James for over 10 years. Initially with a knee problem that he diagnosed and fixed on my first visit to see him, this was after numerous visits and xrays at the QMC where the GP stated nothing wrong, resultant pain killer prescriptions were to no avail. I decided to research the best consultant in orthopaedics in the midlands. I decided on five, l allocated points for each one and Mr Peter James came out on top. I booked another GP appointment and tlod him a must be referred to a specialist consultant and l suggested Mr Peter James, he agreed as he did know of him! Exclamation mark is why was l not recomemded for a specialist consultation! I had a referral letter produced by the GP, l contacted Mr Peter James secretary on a Wednesday and an appointment was made for a consultation the following Monday which was revised to an earlier date being Saturday which suited me very well. Mr Jame quickly determing the problem with my knee and gave me a Cortizone plus injection. Within 10 minutes l could walk without any pain. I walked out and crossed the car park to my sons car who was also amazed l could walk. Not one problem with this kneesince. 10 yearson l have after a 3 year delay (my delay) had full HIP replacement surgery. From the date of my decision to go ahead l cannot fault in any way the care and organisational considerations of Mr Peter James and his team at the BMI The Park Hospital. My surgery was carried out in a well organised and very caring environment. I have since made a return Physiotherapy visit, again excellent care and encouragment on 02nd November 2018. After surgery pain has been absolutely minimal which l feel is because of the care given. I would encourage anyone that is in pain with an arthritic condition to get on with it, already l feel a new life is starting, even at 77 years. Thank you Mr James and your great team.

Mr James has an excellent reputation and is clearly a talented surgeon based on our informal enquiries. As a result we selected him to treat my mother privately at BMI the Park hospital in Nottingham. Our experience was disappointing as she found him quite brusk and intimidating to the extent that she does not feel comfortable going back to see him to discuss ongoing post operative pain in her knee. She also received very little information about her procedure and post operative rehab. The letter sent to her GP in follow up was brief and factually incomplete. Mr James could significantly improve the experience of his patients by: 1. taking more time to listen to his patients, 2. explaining the procedure in greater detail, 3. taking greater ownership of patient handover and ensuring that the patient receives appropriate guidance for post operative rehab. This feedback is intended to be constructive.
