Mr Shakokani provided a wonderful experience in my recent total hip replacement which I underwent recently at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds. I had been on the waiting list for 15 months, the delay being due to the Covid situation. In the effort to catch up with outstanding cases I was admitted on Saturday, 2oth March and I was released on Monday22nd. On Sunday 21st Mr Shakokani gave up a day off to visit all his most recent patients (Two others besides myself) I was given a bedside consultation and shown an ex-ray photograph of the new hip. The operation has been a great success after only three weeks I was walking without any sticks and no pain at all from what had been a very troubling hip. The nurses on the ward were most encouraging as were the members of the physiotherapy department. An excellent experience.
