Was very impressed with Mr Shepard he was friendly and did not rush with the appointment. He answered any question I had some I had not thought about. While in hospital he took great care of me. The operation went well and now six weeks later I am walking with out sticks and no pain from my hip. I would definitely recommend Mr Shepard too anyone very pleased he’s given me back my life.

Have had a total knee replacement by Mr Shepherd whom I would like to thank for his skills with a very positive outcome. As a retired nurse I have some extra insight as to the merits of a doctor who explains the procedure /aftercare with great "bedside manner".

Surgeon Gordon Shepard was brilliant from start to finish. Explained in detail from putting me on the hip replacement list, through to surgery and recovery. Explained the arthritis in my right hip was years of wear and tear. Surgery on the 27th July 21 went brilliantly and was recovering at home within 36 hours. Only used the crutches for a week, staples came out 2 weeks later, Darwen health link commented (that looks a lovely scar). Mr Shepard shown me X-ray of before & after the operation. Returned to work 8 weeks after operation (light duties). Special thanks to all the nurses and physio at Beardwood in Blackburn just absolutely amazing. Sheila in pre-op to B (Bernadette) in recovery, Sarfaraz & Connel in physio, plus many others. Can’t thank Mr Shepard enough for what he’s done for me. I was suffering from degenerative wear and tear in the right hip that was not getting any better and causing me pain and discomfort. I opted to be referring to Mr Shepard as he had partially replaced joints in both my knees 10/11 years previously. I have every confidence in his ability and would not hesitate in recommending him to others for lower limb surgery. Whilst I am not in a hurry to have the left hip replaced, Mr Shepard would again be my first choice. The consultation process, surgery and through to the post consultation appointment was extremely smooth and was done in a very timely manner.

Mr Gordon Shepard performed a total right hip replacement for me after identifying I had hip dysplasia from birth which I had been suffering with for years, he explained every step of the procedure from start to recovery, the operation went really well and my recovery is going great, I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Shepard due to his professionalism and expertise, I am now on the road to recovery under the guidance of the physio and would like to thank Mr Shepard and his team for helping me to enjoy family life pain free,

Excellent pre op information highlighting procedure, risks, post operative expectations and operation, Mr Shepherd was completely professional, very knowledgeable and clear. He and his surgical team made the operation less daunting and post operative care was caring and helpful, as well as preparing me for recuperation at home. I unreservedly recommend Mr Shepherd to anyone needing an effective and efficient treatment of knee joint problems.

There is nothing I can suggest to make my experience better as my treatment was first class from being admitted to my discharge.mr Shepard puts you at ease while still being professional.

Mr. Shepard was a brilliant surgeon for me. He explained in great detail everything he was going to be doing during the operation. He came to see me the following morning to se how I was feeling, obviously a bit groggy be he reassured me that all had gone well and not to worry, but everything would improve day by day and he was 100% right. He’s follow up appointment was no rush in and out and nothing was to much trouble. I honestly couldn’t make any suggestions as to how Mr Shepard could improve he’s manner or care.
